So... What are YOU doing? - Part 7

Remembering that OP that started it all. That final exam I turned in became a life changer for me. It woke me up to realizing just how much I was throwing certain things away in life, and how much i was willing to fight for my own self-respect - even when I created the circumstances. Even when...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 6

Started on a new book by author Mark Manson. Can't repeat the title here, but actually quite good (imo). It would offend most Christians, but his point is well made. Personally, it's something I needed to read right now.

All kinds of errands done - taxes (I owe $22!), gave up waiting on the phone and went to the cable outlet (keeping basic channels), paid a speeding ticket :scared:, closed an old bank account. Time for coffee :coffee:

    The widows mite.

As an anecdote - Years ago I was down to nothing. I was transitioning from one job to another and had not received my last check from the previous job (they were holding onto it for half-legitimate reasons, half out of spite - long story...). I'd tried all I could think of to get hold of it...

    Are Catholics boring catechists?

I quoted this part as it brought up a thought for me (obviously... lol). Anyway, it brought to mind a person who states he is Catholic, has had conversations about his faith, but would be the last person you would think of as 'Catholic' - that being Tom Araya of the band 'Slayer'. He has said...

Here's a little "Man Flow" for MC to practice :) *This is very similar to what I was doing. It really does work out the calf and thigh muscles. I used the wall as a support for all the exercises, though. I haven't tried this raising my arms like the instructor does here. Should give it a try.

Actually, when I was having some severe knee pain a couple of years ago, I needed to do some exercises like this to get the joints to loosen up a bit. There are times I still do - if I go walking it will sometimes cause problems with my knees and ankles, so I need to do stretches or go easy the...

    Are Catholics boring catechists?

I was merely re-phrasing the OP as it wasn't really addressed by your initial response is all. Perhaps I was being a bit 'flippant', but that was the intent. I didn't intend the thread to be a "do you accept/reject Catholic doctrine/practice" issue of which, you rightly noted, we have been over...
