Never heard this one (adult body part language warning)

http://revjeffhood.com/the-vagina-of-jesus/ So the blog above, for those who don't like to click on links, refers to Genesis 1:27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. This Baptist minister believes that the verse is stating...

    Online classes

Of course. If you have a routine where you must be at a certain place at a specific time then it's easier than only knowing you have to complete everything by the end of a term. My daughter waited it all out thinking she could handle the load. I have no idea how she did it but some people work...

    New forum additions!

That's why I think the main theology forums should be for discussing errors. If a thread bothers you in a denominational forum then begin one in the theology forum asking about it and asking for scriptural basis.

Do you have pierced ears? (or would consider doing it)

My mom has no piercings or tattoos.

    Online classes

My daughter had taken some online classes for high school and the classes were all prepared ahead of time. She didn't have to be at the computer at any set time and all her assignments were submitted electronically. It can be difficult to discipline oneself to complete the work with that type of...

    New forum additions!

I love having denominational forums. As a Lutheran, our theology is foreign to a lot of people so we do enjoy having our own little corner :) I don't think that people appreciate having their beliefs picked on in their own forums. That could remain in the main Theology forums I would think.

    Explanation of the Liturgy

The Sanctus Sanctus is a Latin word meaning "Holy." The Sanctus contains words from Isaiah's vision of God (Isaiah 6:3) and the crowd's response on Palm Sunday when Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem (Matthew 21:9). We join them in spirit by singing their words as we anticipate Christ’s...

    Speaking in tongues?

There seems to be a distortion here with this. God gave gifts to the believers but they weren't given gifts because they believed but because He blessed them with what they needed to carry out the works He had in mind for them to do. Not all people in the New Testament received the gifts of...

Do you have pierced ears? (or would consider doing it)

I got my ears pierced when I was 14 and then double pierced when I was 17 but those have closed up so I now only have the single piercings. I'm allergic to nickel so I rarely wear jewelry.

    Explanation of the Liturgy

The Preface Preface means "introduction." The pastor and people get ready to celebrate the Holy Meal by greeting each other and with an exhortation as how to celebrate the meal. * Cf. "Salutation"; Lam. 3:41; Ps. 86.4. The appropriate (or Proper) Preface These words state why we should...

    Postal Worker not delivering mail

Once again in the news I hear about a postal worker who doesn't want to do his job and deliver the mail. These guys infuriate me!!!! To me that is theft of what should be mine when I don't get what is marked for me! I also hate when they deliver my mail elsewhere but that's another rant ;)

Chat Ruth's Friendship Fellowship, come on in, everyone is welcome

It's hot and humid here too but last night it cooled down enough that the air conditioning wouldn't turn on so we opened the windows. The foxes outside were screaming and the bull frogs were doing their noisy thing so I didn't get much sleep.

    Speaking in tongues?

Actually, no, it's not unbelief that prevents people from speaking in tongues. It's that it's not biblical that only those who have enough faith will speak in tongues. That goes against what the New Testament states concerning the topic and what Paul was trying to convince the church to not fall...

    Explanation of the Liturgy

Having heard the Word, it moves us to realize our sinfulness and shortcomings as well as God’s grace and mercy to sinners in Christ (this is what we refer to as hearing Law & Gospel). The Offertory immediately follows the Sermon. We know it as “Create in me…” and the Scriptural basis is from...
