Born of water and the Spirit.

Good for you. John3:5 doesnt mean water-baptism. Brilliant. John3:5 still has nothing to do with water baptism. Who ever said He did? And what's that got to do with a denomination or individual falsely teaching that John3:5 is about water-baptism?

Do you have an evil eye?

Hiya Ima!!! No evil eyes here  Lol, yes, the 50% is funny, it reminds me of a story from a conference teaching, I'll tell later, still laffin about it lol. Anyways, evil eye....interesting explanation, never heard of it that way, thanks. But still, we always gotta be careful, the...

Born of water and the Spirit.

It still doesnt support the rule that at least one religious denomination concocts and teaches and ppl make believe that that verse refers to water-baptism.

The washing of water with the word.

I came home from church tonight and the following (see * below↓) was in my home in-box. Im guessing it was part of the original post here ↑ , and then deleted out and changed to the one now posted. Rather cowardly. It's also a dirtbag thing to say to somebody you know nothing about re: their...

The washing of water with the word.

Dear Josiah ... Where and why do you keep coming out with these ideas that ppl here are prohibitting God w restrictions and cannots, etc., it's like its becoming an obsession with you. Forbidden, disallowed, its like youre on a mission to find every synonym for it, and then insert the same thing...

The washing of water with the word.

And where do they get the idea that John 3:3 (must be born again) has anything to do with water-baptism? Re: the OP ... Ephesians is another book/letter where ppl often take things out of context, takjng a verse here or there and pairing it w other verses from other books to try to prove a...

The washing of water with the word.

Yes, thats why i said 'interesting take, lol'. Lol I dont know why ppl are having such a hard time understanding that we're saved by grace, apart from any works, including that 'Monopoly Utility' :;;D:

The washing of water with the word.

mcoffee, you probably know its not good to take a text from a subtext out of context to try to make a prooftext to support a pretext.

Representative of your fringe group? Be glad I'm a christian, jack!

    the meaning of Baptism

Exactly. Maybe ppl who feel a NEED to water-baptize a baby are showing a weakness of faith and they need proof, or maybe they think thats what saves the baby, (or children or adults, too?) instead of the blood of Christ.

    the meaning of Baptism

Yes ok, I kinda figured that was coming. I saw your first sentence in the other post as an explanation against an apparant accusation. By him asking 'why is God impotent' in response to your post. I didnt take that as they believing it different. I sorry, :sad6: I only tried to defend you, but...

    the Holy Spirit our teacher

I get what youre saying here, but ive also heard ppl describe experiences, etc., And in some ways Im happy for them, but I have to admit (just being honest here) that SOMEtimes those testimonials only served to depress me or stir a bit of jealousy and strife.(shame on me, I know) i.e. Why did...

    the meaning of Baptism

Josiah - The fact that Imalive had to write the first sentence →↓ shows that she too felt you were accusing her by implication. You tend read a spin into someones post, then imply they say or mean something they didnt say or mean, forcing them to have to defend against a false accusation by...

    the Holy Spirit our teacher

And thats why alot of times when I struggle, i get worried... (what if I dont have the Holy spirit? Why am I not getting this or that??) Its like, Im saved now, I should understand everything now! Lol. (And the enemy whispers, maybe youre not saved, then?) It's amazing, the spiritual warfare...

The Ministry of the Holy Spirit

Can we borrow point number 1 from the OP and place it in the baptism thread where ppl keep insisting (and teaching erroneously) that the water of 'being born of water and of the Spirit' in John 3:5 means water-baptism, when it doesnt?
  19. U

    the meaning of Baptism

So then, what is your point here? What is it youre accusing Imalive of in her post? What is it youre hoping to accomplish that would either bring glory to God or help someone get saved or teach believers something that would edify the body? Why do you believe God is incapable to bless a child...

    the Holy Spirit our teacher

I just noticed that the name of the thread is 'the Holy Spirit our teacher' . And here we are teaching each other. :shake: God's pretty cool, how He does stuff, and all. It really is interesting looking at that whole discourse from John 14 thru16 and seeing what can ONLY apply to ppl that...
