So... What are YOU doing? - Part 7

Mis-reading Lamm's post and not noticing the part that says "at the turtle" :D

    Credobaptism

In what part does Saul/Paul make a declaration of faith PRIOR TO his being baptized in those passages? I don't see it. He acknowledges being "set apart" and "called", but I see no evident, verbal act of repentance, nor admission of having made one. The baptism that Ananias gave was ordered by...

    Credobaptism

Dr. McArthur is a very strict Calvinist. His views are quite in the same vein as yours so I'm not surprised at his out-of-context comment about making one's "calling and election sure". If one is "called" and "elect" in a very strict Calvinist view, then there's nothing that can change that fact...

    Credobaptism

Well, If John McArthur can't even understand the Mainline Protestant position, I'm not surprised that some here struggle. And yet, Mainline Protestants can parrot the Evangelical line while standing on their heads in the corner stacking greased b-b's...

Whats the weather like where you live? (part 3)

As per 'Microsoft Weather' it's 54 and partly sunny. What my senses tell me - 54, overcast, and a slight breeze. Still good coffee weather. The birds are loving it

    Baptism by Immersion

In response to some of the objections raised, it is my understanding that for those who are unable to be baptized by immersion (illness, deathbed, etc) allowances are made for other modes. I'm speaking from what I understand of the Credobaptist position. I'm open to being corrected

    Baptism by Immersion

That, and there are some things I believe about baptism itself that I didn't want to address in the thread. I also recall, though, that they had me put on this sort of 'jumpsuit' thing that was waaaay too small. It was soaked as well and took me ten minutes to get out of it. They were a bit...

    Baptism by Immersion

While I now take a different "view" as it were on the mode of baptism, I recall well my own (second) baptism (of the 'Credobaptism' type) and I'll never forget the experience. There is a significance to the full immersion that was very personal to me at the time

    Credobaptism

Can you refer me to where I asked this? Recall, also, that my recent posts asking for clarification on how one knows that a person has truly repented, with only the person's profession of faith as a standard for acceptance to the baptism rite, has gone unanswered.

    Credobaptism

I fully accept at this point your unwillingness to engage with me in a discussion on the OP. Your incessant focus on a topic not under consideration in this thread is noted - hopefully by others as well

    Credobaptism

I am honestly trying to engage in a civil discussion and address the OP. If you are unable or unwilling to answer my post, please say so. There is also context for my post that I quoted. If you need to read the previous posts to see the context, please do so.

    Credobaptism

Menno, I am adhering to the OP of this thread. It is not about the baptism of infants. It is on the subject of Credobaptism. Please respond to the post as written

    Credobaptism

Again, what standard do we have to know? I notice this was ignored when I asked last time. The standard that one has as a Credobaptist is a profession of faith and (I would hope) an examination of the person's sincerity in making that profession. The one ,aking such a profession could have no...

Whats the weather like where you live? (part 3)

Alternating sun and rain. Rain in Spring smells so great. Loving it

    Credobaptism

This is true. Conjunctions in the English language can mean many things in different contexts. Here, the order is implied I'm assuming you intended "remission" of sins. That's a fair question, and one that lies at the heart of Credobaptism, imo. Only God and the repentant person can know the...

    Credobaptism

You've yet to demonstrate that the conjunction "and" NECESSARILY supports chronological order. If i have bacon and eggs for breakfast, did I eat them in that order, or did I have both for the same meal?
  17. ImaginaryDay2

    Credobaptism

How exactly does one know the difference, whether infant, child, or adult? One can confess the faith yet remain an unrepentant sinner. So what is gained by the confession of faith?
  18. ImaginaryDay2

    Credobaptism

I'm not discussing infant baptism here so we'll excuse that. I'm addressing chronological order. Now answer the question
