Nooo! At least they have a mere nut in charge now. If Pence got in, they'd have a "Christian" fundamentalist zealot. God save us from him.

    Transgender in military...or not

Anyone who spreads hate about someone based on the way that person was born is a bigot. It has nothing to do with the military or if I've been a part of it. I don't see it as "serving" anyway. (And why would I chose to be part of an institution with which I disagree in almost all things?)...

Do our bodies continue to age after we die?

Yes, you will be one big wrinkle a few years after you die.

    Transgender in military...or not

If the shoe fit, I probably don't have to explain, sweetheart.

What customs in other countries are odd to you?

"Bells and smells" ... the signs of a good, high-church, liturgical, Christian parish. :)

    Transgender in military...or not

Being transgender isn't a mental health issue. People need to educate themselves about these things before they make hurtful comments. Cis-gender people also get PTSD, a whole lot more often actually, since most of the population is cis. Should that disqualify cis folks as well?

    Transgender in military...or not

I see that anti-LGBTQ bigotry in the Christian community is showing its ugly face once again, this time here.

    Aliens, Sin & Forgiveness

Scientific matters that were not discovered until relatively recently? In Genesis? You're joking, right? Please elaborate, but it will take a lot to blow my mind.

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 4

Please don't call Tim Horton's a Canadian institution. You're just buying into their corporate advertising scheme. They have mediocre coffee, at best. Anyone with a few coffee beans and a grinder can make better coffee, and at a fraction of the cost. (That goes for Starbucks as well.)

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 4

I hate them both, and Starbucks is twice as expensive. I can make better coffee.

What is considered women teaching? Is posting studies taboo to you?

Oh my! I shall have to get on that right away. I've been missing out on ... I don't know what. But I'll spend a considerable amount of time in prayer, or something, about this until I know where I've fallen short ... or something.

    what is spiritual warfare

I'm not a big fan of much of what is called spiritual warfare by most churches that use that term, but if someone is one, and knows of a resource which supports that theology, there's nothing wrong with that person offering it. The Bible itself is actually quite sketchy on the topic, so other...

    Did Luther promote Polygamy??!!

See ... I'm still an Anglican even though I attend a Lutheran church. No Sola Scriptura for me. Anglicans use the "Scripture, Tradition, and Reason" thing, or at least are supposed to. It has to make sense in the end.

    Did Luther promote Polygamy??!!

I don't think he was actually promoting it. He merely said that since it wasn't forbidden in Holy Scripture, so he couldn't forbid it. The whole "traditional marriage" argument that so many use against certain other marriages gets quite murky very quickly, and those who would use that phrase...

    Hi from the UK

The UK is kind of the length of the province of Manitoba in which I live, so I know exactly what you mean. For me, to hop into the car and drive two hours to visit someone is nothing. A five-hour drive down to the middle of Minnesota in the Excited States to visit my relatives ... or in...

    The city of God.

Do we know that it was the same Korah? Perhaps Korah was a common name like James is now. And I always thought that the swallowing up thing was a bit harsh.

    Heroes of history

I think that is what MoreCoffee was asking for ... who are your heroes? They don't have to be heroes to anyone else.

Wicked papist! Baiting the US folks! I'd never do something like that! :P
