    Jesus has fulfilled the law and in that sense we don't have to fulfill it in order to appease God who demands we are holy to gain entry into heaven so that means we don't work to get into heaven.

    The sermon was enforcing what Jesus was against in that man forms traditions and calls it God's law but it is only men coming up with their own laws because they don't fully understand.

    I got some great news for you, you fear your bad works and yeah, you should be sorry when you do bad things and here's the good news, that gospel that saves, Jesus died for those bad works you have done. Did you know that? Did you know he has forgiven your sins by his death?

    I heard a sermon on this about traditions of man and they can take precedence instead of doing the right thing.

    Being a first fruit isn't what saves because we can't bear the fruit unless we have been given faith by the him in the first place and then fruit follows but it isn't fruit that saves.

    In his parables Jesus used common day language for his crowds to understand, if he spoke to farmers he used planting seeds and the like so they'd comprehend his thought patterns. His very words are indeed life to those who hear and believe and foolishness to those who turn away from him.

    I agree that fulfill isn't the same as abolish but the concept of what fulfill in Christ is important to know that the law isn't what saves us anyway but it's what we live by because of salvation.

    I never saw a problem in acknowledging that God is the chooser of those to be in Christ since he tells us he chooses us and we didn't choose him. Left to our own devices we wouldn't choose him because we would look to ourselves always.

    What would it be like to truly meet an innocent man, well, we have such a man who saves us and they call him wonderful.

    Fasting?

    Those are great examples of what can be sacrificed during the lenten season for fasting and it's okay to do that type of fast. Have you tried any of those before?
