The statement that was highlighted in one of my posts (#24) is heretical, but what he really means and if he really intends to teach that God was never born and that Blessed Mary gave birth only to the humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ I cannot say with certainty. Technically it would be hard...

It is hard to tell if there is any error in the teaching that is given at that church from such a brief doctrinal statement. The sermons preached tell more about specific doctrines, albeit sermons are inherently pastoral rather than formally doctrinal.

I agree that he may not intend to teach a heresy in Christology. His sermon is mainly a set of "horror quotes" (horror from his perspective) which he takes to be offensively elevating to Blessed Mary, and in his horror he is not unique because many people that I have met, usually people who are...

Considering the use of the English language in your posts with respect to the Catholic Church I cannot help but chuckle at your expressed hope. PS: let's not make an issue out of the other place, it provided a useful conversation thread regarding what John MacArthur teaches and broadcasts...

I like that. It's a good thought. But you though, do you think John MacArthur's statement "God was never born" is theologically erroneous?

It's "ChristianForums.com" and I call it the other place because a number of people here fled that place because of various reasons to do with site management etc.

It may seem so to you but in reality very few Catholics that I know, and I do know many, fail to understand that venerating Blessed Mary is not worshipping Blessed Mary as if she is God. There is no fine line among Catholics but there appears to be a perception among some Protestants that such a...

The one who brought it all up is John MacArthur and he is no Catholic. And the immediate cause for me posting this thread is the things said (and written in a transcript of the sound recording) in the sermon that John MacArthur preached, and which was mentioned by a Protestant in "the other...

While I can feel for people who feel the way you have described it is an emotional argument rather than a factual and theological argument that you've presented. People who feel this way can alleviate their qualms by means of self education on what the Catholic Church means by "mother of God"...

That, dear Josiah, is rather flippant; did you listen to the sermon, read its transcript?

In the transcript of John MacArthur's sermon these words are spoken, they are in truth the core theological content in his sermon (the rest being polemics and quotes for polemical purposes), but their theology is wrong, heretical, a distortion that separates the human nature of Jesus Christ from...

In the other place there is a long thread asking if John MacArthur is guilty of heresy for his insistence that the expression "mother of God" is all wrong. I'll cite the sermon recording and if you want to listen to him, I managed about 50% of it, then you may want to give an opinion on whether...

If you do not have a driver for the monitor then Windows 10 or 11 may give you trouble, you can try Linux without having a driver for the monitor, see how that goes if you like. But windows 10/11 is for many people more desirable.

You can buy "barebones" and add RAM up to 64GB and storage to whatever it can take. I do not know about your monitor, mine is an AOC 27" from a year or two ago.
