Who is your favorite group or musician of all time?

I'm having a hard time making a decision because depending on my mood I might listen to light rock, christian, country or jazz or classical. For country I would have to say George Strait or Randy Travis For just having a freaking amazing voice Whitney Houston or Barbara Streisand

    Pursuing Wealth

When I think of "all these things" that is mentioned in this verse, material goods is the last thing I think about. What I don't think some people understand including some christians is that material goods can be stolen, destroyed, washed away and rusted away. They don't last and the person...

    Pursuing Wealth

At the same time, David went through times when he was living in the wilderness and so did Paul and Jesus Himself. I don't see anywhere where it says that wealth is a sign by itself that God is pleased with a person.

    Pursuing Wealth

The Bible seems to discourage believers from pursuing wealth or prosperity. Here is what it says in James 1:9-11 9 "Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. 10 But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower...

Does School violence begin at home?

Yes, that's true. It also makes you wonder how two kids raised in the same home and go through much the same circumstances and one turns out with mental illness and violent and the other adjusts well and achieves some things in his or her life. Some people are like flowers that grow through...

Can you afford your phone? Really?

The office I work in now gave me a phone when I started working there. It is linked to my email. For them this is a good way to ensure that I am linked to my email and they can contact me whenever they want. Since we are also on call every few weeks we can use this number also without giving...

Your tithe doesn't have to go to the church

That's true. The Lord is clear very early on that they weren't to eat meat with the blood still in it. That still makes sense today even if it isn't a command. Knowing what we know now it seems more like common sense to me.

Can you afford your phone? Really?

I use my personal phone for almost everything else except calling. I use it for music, listening to sermons, texting, taking pictures, reading the news, looking up what movies are going on. I didn't pay 1000 for it though and never would.

Your tithe doesn't have to go to the church

Yes, the rituals regarding the law aren't relevant anymore regarding things like sacrifices and such. The law was meant according to the New Testament to be a tutor to lead us to Christ. i wasn't really referring to Old Testament commands about foot washing or food requirements. I meant other...

Your tithe doesn't have to go to the church

Yes, I realize that. But the article is about tithing. Which we know that only a small minority do. At least they do in terms of giving to the church. Is the fact that this is an unpopular teaching because it is not biblical or because we don't want to give that much? Is saying that it is...

Your tithe doesn't have to go to the church

"It’s not that giving to your local church isn’t important—it is, leaders told the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE). But 76 percent say it’s fine if you want to give part of your tithe to a different ministry. “Many evangelical leaders do not believe there’s a biblical requirement to...
