The Unbelieving Pharisees of John 10

It says elsewhere that God hardened their hearts so they could not believe. This would be the same as Jesus telling them they could not believe it because he did not die for them. Plus it says he died for the church. Certainly, these were not the church.

Jesus died for the sins of the world

Jesus paid for our sins on the cross. This means we are saved because God sees us as never having sinned. Never having sinned means God cannot punish you for sin but owes you complete restoration instead. This is why we go to heaven. That is how he saves us. This is not true for most, or they...

Jesus died for the sins of the world

He said he did not die for them resulting in their inability to believe. I give my life for the sheep. You are not my sheep. Nowhere does he say he gave his life for them.

The Unbelieving Pharisees of John 10

John 10 shows that Jesus did not die for the Pharisees in his audience and that is why they did not believe. “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” John 10:11 (KJV 1900) “But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.” John 10:26...

Why are Some Saved and Not Others?

God would be dishonest and would cheat Christ out of his purchase if all he died for were not saved. Faith is evidence God saved you. Had he not paid for your sins you would not believe in any true sense.

Jesus died for the sins of the world

This entire topic would become settled if anyone would explain how universal atonement works when Jesus told the Pharisees in John 10 he did not die for them. And THAT is why they cannot believe. Are there any honest takers out there?

    Why Universal Atonement is Pelagianism.

Jesus did not die for all people. God damned the Pharisees so they could not be saved. “But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him: That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom...

    Predestined

Good article. If I were to add anything, it would be people cannot grasp and believe spiritual truth unless God first gives them a new heart. Only then can they not worship idols they might even call Jesus. The new heart has a Holy disposition that causes the believer to do what the Sermon on...

Jesus died for the sins of the world

You have a Hot Potato you keep dropping. You cannot answer the John 10 Problem because it takes out more than you would care to admit.

    John 3:16's two interpretations

It sounds as though you hate me. Is that the problem?

Jesus died for the sins of the world

Complaining about me only shows your hopelessness in proving me wrong. I feel sorry for you to no end. But you still cannot answer for the unbelieving Pharisees in John 10. This is very serious because you have some pretty big dogs in this fight.

Jesus died for the sins of the world

If Christ paid for all sin, why do so many perish? Here's where it all falls apart for you if you provide one honest answer.

Jesus died for the sins of the world

How can I not share the truth Christ suffered and died for? The fact is, institutional church organizations are religious franchises that need to attract and keep their patrons. You cannot do that by telling the truth.

    John 3:16's two interpretations

I have many threads that utter not a chirp on the Atonement. Why not answer the Pharisee's unbelief cause?

    Why Universal Atonement is Pelagianism.

But you still ignore my Pharisee's situation where Christ did not die for them. Or the major passages that use MANY limiting World, and All in the numbers of people he died for or are saved.

    John 3:16's two interpretations

I believe in limited (redemption) atonement. I believe this because Christ redeemed me on the cross.

    Forgiveness

Mennonite Missions cover the world. The Amish broke off from them but their origins are the same. The Sermon divides the wheat from the chaff anyone who ever lived it will tell you.

    John 3:16's two interpretations

You cannot understand the verse if you do not balance it with many others. That is what this is about. People overlook the Limited Atonement verses and run off like a dog with a new bone on this one.

    Why Universal Atonement is Pelagianism.

Did you know Calvin did not teach Limited Atonement? It was Luther I believe taught it first, And finally the Synod of Dort in their 5 points of Calvinism. Which is buggy in points 4 & 5. Those points reflect universal atonement instead, being logically disjoined from the first three points that...

    Forgiveness

I had close contact with the Mennonites for a couple of years. The Amish broke off from them. And they have a completely different tone about them from other Christian groups I'm familiar with. They repudiate violence under any circumstance which is a tone you don't pick up on too often. They...
