    Babies and children

Original sin doesn’t necessarily imply that infants are doomed. Most Reformed think that people who die in infancy are saved. I think others do as well. It’s not that infants are sinless. Rather, they find a few Scriptural passages suggesting that God saves them out of sheer grace. I don’t...

Creeds fall short when it comes to the Mystery of the GodHead

That's not what non-credal churches are talking about. To my knowledge no one objects to a person or group having a confession that expresses their faith. They object to requiring one to subscribe to a specific creed as authoritative or as a condition to being part of a church. Since the...

Creeds fall short when it comes to the Mystery of the GodHead

CH management might want to consider just what it expects people to say about the Nicene Creed. There are Protestant traditions that are non-credal or even anti-credal that still accept the contents of the Nicene Creed, even though they would reject the Creed as an actual authority. It used to...

Incidentlally the following https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/can-undocumented-person-california-drivers-license.html claims that undocumented licenses are a separate type of license, referred to as AB60 (after the law authorizing them). They have "FEDERAL LIMITS APPLY" stamped on them. In...

Doesn't CA comply with Real ID? If so, there's a lot more checking going on than depending upon the applicant to check the right box.

Here’s a list of why votes were rejected in one NJ election. https://www.njspotlight.com/2020/06/one-in-10-ballots-rejected-in-last-months-vote-by-mail-elections/ The state has asked for a detailed analysis, and will try to fix things for November. I’m not opposed to mail ballots. For people...

    USA Mail In Voting

I believe a substantial number are due to mismatch of signature. I doubt that they're using handwriting experts, so I'd bet anyone whose signature has changed is at risk. In NJ for the primary, 10% of the mail-in ballots weren't counted. They were probably not fraudulent (except in Patterson)...

    Fauci suggests goggles now

He doesn't seem to have suggested that everyone do it, just said that it would provide increased protection. I'm sure that's true. Doesn't mean I'll do it. Most models say that having everyone wear a mask would be enough to keep the virus in control.

    Was Ezra a prophet?

I agree with what atpollard said in general terms, from the point of view of traditional Protestants. (My own tradition has a very different approach.) However he alludes to a traditional Jewish distinction between prophets and writings. This traditional reckoning doesn't have a separate...

    Was Ezra a prophet?

As far as I know there's no definition that says an author has to be a prophet. The OT has histories, e.g. Joshua and Kings. They're not prophetic. I've seen lots of discussions of the D-C books such as Maccabees. That it wasn't written by a prophet isn't one of the common arguments.

    Was Ezra a prophet?

No. He is identified as a priest and scribe, and never claimed to have a prophetic revelation

    Free SSL for CH

It looks like CH supports SSL, but doesn't redirect. Normally if you go to http://site, you'll get a redirect to https://site. CH isn't doing that. So you need to use https: explicitly when you go to it.

    Was Ezra a prophet?

No. I just looked through the whole book of Ezra. It attributes the mandate to rebuild Jerusalem to the prophets Haggai and Zechariah. Ezra is described as a priest and scribe. He is carrying out the policy that they established. His other big mandate, forcing massive numbers of divorces, with...
