I'm pretty picky when it comes to icons to be honest. :P I just bought an icon of this version, Virgin of the Passion.

While it is said that an Angel appeared to Anna, mother of Mary, Joachim and Anna gave birth to Mary the normal way I thought.

I can play piano somewhat, and then I sing. :P

One of the biggest arguments against the Ever Virginity of Mary is that the Bible says about Jesus's brothers. However, the Greek word for brothers was also used to address friends and every day people as we see in the Epistles.

That's probably it. I didn't know that about you, but that's for a different thread. :P Well I know that even though some may know that they are not worshipping but rather venerating, they're still not on board with it.

So the Assumption is the dogma that Mary was taken up to Heaven before death?

I know there are certain icons that may bother people, normally those of the Theotokos.
