    Trump Guilty on all counts

The reason no candidate has ever been convicted of anything has to do with more lack of opportunity than anything else. I'm sure many Presidential Candidates and Presidents are guilty of far worse, but nobody from the opposing party had the time and opportunity to pursue charges. The...

    Trump Guilty on all counts

There is know doubt in my mind that if his name had been Bob Smith, he had been the CEO of a Fortune 500 Company, and he used company funds to pay off a call girl so the shareholders wouldn't find out, that the DA would have seen the time and money to bring charges as a waste of taxpayer...

    Trump Guilty on all counts

I agree with this. It only makes MAGA mad and they will turn out in droves. However, Republicans who would hold their nose and vote for Trump and Independents who just don't want to deal with another 4 years of Trump drama will probably just sit this one out. If only 3-5% sit this one out...

    Trump Guilty on all counts

Does this cost him the election? Will a majority of Republicans vote for someone who has been convicted of a felony by a jury of his peers? If he wasn't named Donald Trump the charges never would have been filed against him. However, I do believe he was guilty of the charges.

    Election Day National Holiday

Stop all mail in voting except for health, travel, and military service and have those ballets notarized so it can be confirmed that the person who filled out the ballot is the person who signed the ballot. Have polls open for 72 hours straight to make it easier for everyone to vote in person...

USA Public Schools and Religion in the USA

Protestant churches in early America called for the separation of church and state. Many Protestants saw the persecution that resulted when church and state are mixed. There are many examples in the middle ages of the church declaring people heretics and the state executing those people. Many...

    The development of Doctrine

How on earth is listening to apologist on Catholic teaching, and not agreeing with them, tempting God to condemn me?

    The development of Doctrine

Like most documents, the CCC itself needs interpretation and explanation or deep study. I had rather just ask a Catholic what they think it means. I've gotten different answers on questions from different Catholics. For instance, on this particular question I've gotten a long response about...

    The development of Doctrine

I'm not a former Catholic. My post are generalities, mostly about people I know who are former Catholics.

    The development of Doctrine

I am not a former Catholic. I do know many former Catholics. I know one current Catholic who considered leaving the Catholic church but was told to do so would send her to hell. To my knowledge (i've lost contact with her) she is still a Catholic.

    The development of Doctrine

What about people that change their mind? They believe that "the Catholic Church is founded by God as necessary for salvation" but then stop believing it but keep believing in Christ and working out their faith, albeit in another tradition?

    The development of Doctrine

I was referring to the questions in post #19 If I'm a Baptist and I read a book that tells me that Catholicism is true and I need to enter into it and I reject that message does that mean "I know the Catholic church is necessary and refuse to enter it or remain in it"? How about if one was...

    The development of Doctrine

What is the best definition of knowledge? : the fact or condition of knowing something with familiarity gained through experience or association. (2) : acquaintance with or understanding of a science, art, or technique. b(1) : the fact or condition of being aware of something. So to "Know...

    The development of Doctrine

You ignored the greater question. What does it mean to "Know" the Catholic church is founded by God and refuse to enter or remain in it? I gave several examples of different situations. Which of those meet that criteria?

    The development of Doctrine

It says a lot but leaves a lot of open questions. Hence they could not be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in it. CCC 846 What exactly does that mean? If I'm a Baptist and I read a book...

    The development of Doctrine

I was going to write a long reply answering each question but it would be time consuming and kind of pointless. I'll just say that Catholics and non-Catholic Christians have a different definition of "church" and of "salvation". Catholics can't say that Protestants (non-Catholic Christians)...
