You're right, I don't know. Maybe there is no reason for anything to exist, it just does. You're limiting the possible explanations by assuming there must be a reason in the first place.

Trying to prove the non-existence of something is a long and pointless road. Science isn't interested in those assertions for obvious reasons.

I don't really make that statement. All I say is that I don't believe any of the books and myths that lay claim to gods existing. It doesn't require faith to not believe in something if there's no evidence of the thing in the first place.

The anger is not usually directed at a personal level, more so at the religion in question. Unless, of course, said religion tries to impose it's particular dogmas on the rest of us, then it can become a personal attack on those responsible.
