whats the weather like where you live?

It didn't even make it up to 60° F. here today, but back to the 80s in a few days. :D

    pc stop recognizing IPv6

Yes, things got considerably worse for me ever since FF 50.0. I suppose Chrome would be my next alternative, but I would really miss Firebug and Adblocker, although I would think Chrome has rough equivalents. I just like the way FF looks over Chrome too...but FF now leaks memory like a...

    pc stop recognizing IPv6

I cringe every time Firefox loads and says it has been updated. I've been a Firefox user since 2002, but in the last couple of years, it just gets worse and worse with every update. :(

The Passing Of An American Hero

From Wikipedia: In 1962 he became the first American to orbit the earth, circling three times. Before joining NASA, he was a distinguished fighter pilot in both World War II and Korea, with five Distinguished Flying Crosses and eighteen clusters. He was one of the "Mercury Seven" group of...

I want to stimulate my logical thinking neurone

Yeah, the sun was coming up, so I went to bed. I simply didn't feel like trying to explain the difference between a solar and sidereal day, when I know it would be refused anyway.

I want to stimulate my logical thinking neurone

Well, if you are approaching it as something to memorize and shortly thereafter regurgitate simply to pass an exam, then you aren't really learning anything (this is how pre-med students approach the 1 "weed-out" calculus course they are required to take). It isn't about memorizing formulas...

I want to stimulate my logical thinking neurone

Well, then a calculus-based physics course at the university level would be a perfect place to continue. :) Physics really came alive when Newton came along. Once you've had about 4 semesters of calculus/physics, you can really begin to figure out how a lot of things work. Courses in...

I want to stimulate my logical thinking neurone

If you really want to get the old noodle into shape, study mathematics and physics. Understanding how things work is immensely empowering...it helps keep you from being a dupe. ;)

    A new Calendar

That makes a lot of sense...I'm on board...now we just need to do something about the inconsistency of the number of days in a month. :scratchchin:

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 2

I just put the finishing touches on a huge custom project for MHB, it is a product that allows our users to enter TikZ markup code into their posts/PMs/VMs/group messages, etc. and this code is sent to a rendering server maintained by one of our global moderators, a nice chap from the...

    NASA and Facebook tricked you

I knew before you started this thread, and before I had given much thought to the fact that there are a few people who claim to believe the Earth is flat, that the flat Earth model is sheer lunacy. I mean, all the evidence points to a spherical Earth...and you know, the closer I look at this...

    NASA and Facebook tricked you

And? How is that any different from you posting a video...except my information is good while yours is fatally flawed? You would do well to read that entire page as it points out quite a few more gaping holes in the flat-Earth model. ;) Rather than point out that I used a source with...

    Hi all

Welcome back! I've been known to get a bit heated in online discussions myself...those are not my proudest moments, but overall I am improving. I still have momentary lapses but those are generally getting fewer and father in between.
