    Is eating meat ethical?

I agree with the underlined text. I am not so sure about the lack of vegan opportunity in Jesus time; the fact is that many in India were vegetarian at the time so it was possible and I think that the diet of most people in the Roman province of Judea would have been close to vegetarian with a...

    Prayer and free will

I pray for folk recently departed from this world, for people in this world, and for the help of the saints in the next world so yes I do pray for others and hope that they pray for me, yet I do not expect God to force somebody to become a Christian or to rewrite their software (following the...

    Prayer and free will

I wonder why people worry about free will or the lack of it when it is so clearly obvious that we can and do choose our course of action in whatever circumstances we're in. It seems odd to make God the cause for your own choices as if you were some helpless automaton awaiting divine instructions...

    Is eating meat ethical?

Jesus ate meat and fish and I reckon he was ethical so I reckon that folk who say it isn't ethical are implying that Jesus wasn't.

The holy supper of our Lord.

I wondered if any of you might be interested in reading a fairly short presentation on the Catholic view of the Lord's supper and its meaning. Below is a section taken from a book by James Cardinal Gibbons. It was written in the 1870s and he revised the book over the years from then until his...
