Turning out a few more bowls. I'm thinking I might try and get a space at a local craft show and see if I can sell some of them. It's a local show and cheap enough to be there, but shows are always something of a balancing act. The ones that are local and cheap tend to be the ones with relatively few attendees who don't have a lot of money to spend. The ones that are in busier areas and cost more to attend tend to have higher attendance and people ready and willing to spend, but you obviously have to sell more to make up the booth fee and the costs associated with driving there.
If we go to this show it will be nice and easy - the canopy, a table, and a bunch of bowls to sell. Then I just need to figure how to price them. For now at least it's convenient that all the wood I'm using is free, the only input costs I have relate to things like sandpaper and coatings. If I sell a decent number of them maybe I can offset the cost of my lathe against my income. That would be nice.
