Why Christ said we have to go Beyond the Law

I believe we are in danger of accepting "easy believism" and "cheap grace" Some verses to consider From James ch.2" v21Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? 22You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by...

Why Christ said we have to go Beyond the Law

I would say that the "works" that James mentions are evidence of our faith and therefore of our salvation. From the OT: It was GOD who saved the Israelites out of the house of slavery (Deut.5:6) He saved them from slavery so that they may serve Him and worship him and Him alone. (Exod. 8:1, and...

Science, Faith & the Pursuit of Truth

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.(Rom.10v17) Therefore true faith does not come from science but through the word of Christ But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through...

Why Christ said we have to go Beyond the Law

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (Eph.2v8-10...

USA Olson: "No One Is Too Far Gone for Jesus"

nobody is "too far gone" to receive Jesus Christ. “We need to be encouraged and remember that no one is beyond the love and the saving power of Jesus. Our job is to go out into the fields of harvest and preach that message every day, every Christian to every person,” McFarland says. At...

America at 250: The Story of Religious Liberty

There is a lot I could add, but I always try and keep it short In the OT God had a covenant with Israel. In the NT God does not have covenants with nations anymore, that is not found in Scripture. Jesus is building His Church where believers from every nation are included. In the Bible...

America at 250: The Story of Religious Liberty

I don't know what reasons we have to celebrate. I think, wherever we live, we should instead spend that time praying, repenting, spreading the Gospel. This world system is at the brink of total collapse and chaos. But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty...

    Do you enjoy horror movies?

very good advice from gotquestion.org As we mature in our Christian walk, sin and evil should bother us more and more all the time. We are to be beacons of light in an ever-darkening world, striving to live a life that is holy and pleasing to God (Romans 12:1; 1 Thessalonians 2:12). Scripture...

What kind of "flesh" did Jesus take in the 'incarnation', fallen or unfallen, & how does it affect the Gospel?

@BluePrints, We should, avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. (Titus 3:9,ESV) Here are some important verses for you From infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for...

Have people rightly understood the primary doctrine on Father, Son & Holy Ghost?

I will try and keep my post very short. Among those who understood it are the those who wrote the Scriptures. Because what they wrote is God breathed. We also know that the Apostles layed the foundation. The Scriptures and the teachings oft the Apostles are the only 100% reliable source. Neither...
