At the top right there is a "Settings" tab. Click on that. On the next page there will be some settings you can adjust on the left. One is to "Change Avatar" where you can upload that, and another is to "Change Profile Settings" where you can edit personal details.
I found the picture for my avatar about six months ago and was really taken by it. I'm a cat person, so I thought that was just awesome
