This is from last year - so not new new - but I thought it worth posting.

This farmer runs his entire farm, a processing plant and a fleet of 42 transport trucks entirely on:

Methane processed from the poop of the cows on his farm.

The article made me smile. While the masses are always hoping to put someone into office to "solve our energy crises", here's a farmer that just did it on his own.

Doesn't it seem that every time a new method comes up for fuel that the political mob gets in the way though?

Yeah, I wouldn't generalize it though - it seems to be something of a mixed bag. I mean - I've heard stories of super carburetors and other mechanical devices for vehicles that get them extraordinary fuel savings - only to not be used by some deal cut between oil and car making companies. Then there was the electric car that went nowhere fast. Now there's hybrids. It's hard to tell. I mean - at least in the US at one time individuals were encouraged to make their own alcohol for vehicles. Again - depends on where you're at. If memory serves Brazil runs like half it's cars on alcohol alone or a mixture. No fancy methods either - they seem to grow enough crop to feed their engines and their people.

Poop for fuel though. This isn't exactly new. Burning dried animal or even human feces for fuel is mentioned in the bible and many countries around the world today still utilize the technology in some form or fashion - be it primitive or more modern. It seems to be more western countries that have forgotten about it for some reason.
