I am on medication for seizures 600mgs a day, actually. It usually controls my seizures, however in the pass six days I have had I know one seizure that sent me to bed just after 2000 hours Wed night. I also believe I had one today and took an hour nap ( rarely take naps), The doctor has told me I am on the highest dose of that medication I can take.

I will pray for you, seizures can be scary to those who havent been around them and I know that not everyone can be completely controlled with medication

Yeah thanks

It may just be that my body has built up to where it does not work well anymore. Just like my uncle who is an alcoholic ( recovering several years sober) if R had two glasses of wine nothing would happen. You may not even know. If I had two glasses of wine it would be clear more than likely. May be the same thing going on.

I will pray for you :) I have friends who have seizures but they are very mild and no one can tell when they have them.

On 9-1 I am going to get the results of blood work from last week that was planned prior to having all of this. I do not know if I have ever been THIS excited to go to the doctor.

YES Georgia has recently started to legalize weed for medical use. I hope I do not have to go that far, but I would.

Yes, definetly. When I was a student in pharmacy school I had a rotation at an organization for epilepsy research and advocacy, specifically childhood epilepsy and the "rarer" epilepsies that need more research into drug development that may be more effective for them. The mechanism behind seizures can be very different from each other, and aome patients don't find any relief with the medicines in the US. My preceptor's daughter had to have meds imported from Europe to get on a regimen that worked better than what was available in the US.

I know how difficult it can be for patients to find a combination that works for them. Just a thought, if you we're getting relief before but are no longer, maybe check with the pharmacy to see if the manufacturer dispensed changed, or maybe you we're switched from brand to generic...some patients are more sensitive than others when it comes to these differences, especially with seizure meds.

"Look on me and answer, O Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death." Psalm 13:3

That's great advice! I didn't even consider that the maker had changed something! Dogs4thewin, it's worth checking into, huh?

You're not the only one who has seizures. I had petite mal seizures and they're now complex partial seizures.

dogs4thewin, did you know that anti seizure medicines affect your bone density? I found this out in 1995 after I tripped and injured my knees. The x-ray revealed that two of my medicines had caused osteoporosis. I had a shot in June to combat the thinning of my bones.
