Fiddling with some code. The changes I wanted to write took longer than they should have done, but now it all works and I've got some new functionality to play with.

Waking up a little groggy. Only a couple more weeks until my allergies subside.

I have been cleaning and scraping stain off my back deck all afternoon in preparation for staining it again. I went to church this morning and did some laundry

I remember the yearly deck cleaning at my old house. We never stained it though thankfully! This house we have now has a composite deck so I just clean it with Oxyclean each spring and it looks great.

Resting. The last few days were busy so I'm taking it easy and researching insulation options for when it's time to move past the wrecking stage onto Stage 2: Putting It All Back Together Again.

I pressure washed it this morning and then my wife stained it this evening and it looks a lot better than it did. We got a pergola to install on it also so we can have some shade. Maybe that will be next weekends project

Watching WWE Raw

I haven't watched wrestling in years. Use to like Macho Man and the Ultimate Warrior. Too bad they are both dead now.

It must be nice having your wife work along with you. Does she work on it during the week also or is she working elsewhere too?

This was more of a weekend project. I did the scraping and then cleaning and then yesterday she did the staining. We both have full time jobs, but not at the same place

Pergola's are great especially with fast growing grape vines for shade. What type of work does your wife do?

Got some yard work done. Mowed the lawn, trimmed the edges, then got to visit the hardware store for some insecticide so I could get rid of some uninvited guests. They were some kind of wasp, an iridescent dark blue. I think they were mud daubers or cricket hunters, not sure which. Either way, they didn't seem to enjoy the insecticide much.

Had a few things to do in town today.

Since I've been back I haven't done a lot. Been browsing for a used/decently priced video camera. I had a decent one for a while that I picked up cheap, but it's not working right now. The reliable video cam I do have is a an old phone one with like 3 megapixels - so quality is not great and the sound lags the video by ever increasing degrees.

I dug up some more ground for my turnip sprouts - as initially I don't think I loosened the ground deep enough for them.

Cooked and ate cooked turnips, and some raw ones with a bit of oil and seasoning. Most nutritious meal I've had today.

Piano.

Getting ready to get groceries. I don't even have a plan of what I want to make for meals this week. Usually I have some in mind but then see the prices of the meats to know if I'll really make them. I like to go very early in the morning because there are Manager's Specials with the meats greatly reduced. I grab as many as I can ;)

I usually buy cheap cuts or cuts that are on sale. But I don't eat a lot of meat dishes so I don't buy a lot of meat. In fact I currently have some frozen beef, minced beef, chicken, and bacon but I haven't defrosted any yet because I am not planning to cook any meat today or tomorrow. I have noticed that meat prices here are lower than they are for equivalent quantities in the USA. But the prices are not a lot lower. Our vegetables and fruit can be more expensive than in the USA but it varies so sometimes they are cheaper here.
