People who preach prosperity gospel forget that we're blessed in order to be a blessing to others. Not to go out and buy that million dollar mansion.

Yes blessed to be a blessing. That is the point. Our Father does not bless us to hog it all for ourselves. But He also did not say you should not have a million dollar mansion either.Spreading the gospel takes money.
Ecclesiastes 10:19 A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things.

It takes money to train evangelists and missionaries. It takes money to travel all over the world bring the gospel to lost souls.

Yes I believe it partly, sawing and reaping works, God cares for you, but Paul also had times he had nothing and Jesus didn't live in a palace. Two extremes, be poor as a munk, preachers get nothing and may go to a food bank or this craziness of living in a castle and have a private jet. Yet the poor people in their churches are asked for tithes. The pharisees did that too, eat the houses of the widows.

Preaching the tithe is truth. The lie is, you don't have to honor the Word. Our Father's Word is tied up in His promise about the tithe. And if you do not pay the tithe, you are robbing God and you will suffer loss.

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Malichi 3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.

10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.

12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts.

So we need to read trust our Father's Word.

Jer. 1:12 Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.

Malachi writes about the temple in Jerusalem and its upkeep. Tithes were a tax. No government today maintains the temple in Jerusalem so no tax for maintaining it is needed. Tithes are not part of Jesus' teaching about giving.

Not sure how the middle man funneling charitable givings should skim enough off to allow for them to buy a million dollar mansion.

Yes preaching tithing is good and it is not to be asked from someone who can even make more debts for it and they are to be used for the poor in the church, so then those could pay tithes also, but now it goes to the insane wealthy preachers. Apparently the principle of receiving thousands back works only for them and the others don't have enough faith lol.

There was a guy on cf who got a job for an organization to help the poor in Africa. He got 250000 a year for it plus an extra house in Belgium. LOL I wouldn't give a cent to that organization.

Who says they are funneling charitable givings? They write, books make cd's and dvd's, and I guess get paid for speaking engagements. If you did the same, do you think other people should tell you how to spend your money?

Show me scripture to support this. Jesus praised the poor woman who gave her last two pennies.

I never said there are not abuses. But the people who we are discussing preach, serve the poor, and, they give back into their ministries to help the poor. They start schools, they train missionaries and evangelists to spread the gospel. Plus, their money comes mostly from the products they produce.

LOL! I have a funny story about this scene.

Once, some years ago, the pastor's wife got upset because after church service on Sundays, the children would go to the little mini market down the street from our churc to spend money buying drinks, chips, candy etc. So she got on a campaign to stop it. Well I was right with her. So we came up with a plan to stock the kitchen with all kind of snacks and we were going to sell them after church. We went and bought up all of these snacks, but on the way home we were just talking about the good deals we had gotten. Then out of the blue our Father dropped this scene into my spirit and He said, "You didn't ask me." I started screaming "I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" The pastors wife thought I had lost my mind. I started crying and asking Father to forgive me. I mean I was toast. When I could finally speak coherently, I told her what I just told you. LOL! It was scary, but too funny in hindsight.LOL. We learned that day about selling stuff on the church campus.

But the internet makes is profitable for these guys to advertise their products and get them sold.

You can't give what you don't have. She had pennies, not minus a few thousand at the bank.
People in our church who had a lot of debt and were on a fixed income to pay it all back were not even allowed to give money by the people who helped them get rid of debts, so they weren't asked to make even more debts and tithe. They fed their 3 y. o. peanuts. We'd bring em food sometimes. Just give something if you have it on your heart and God will get you out of it. They got out of it.
We had one guy who had been homeless for years, he had almost no money, but we had a healing weekend and you had to pay for the room you slept in, but my ex said to him: you don't have to pay. We'll pay it for you. But he absolutely wanted to pay for it himself, otherwise he didn't go. So lol he went outside his house to put away his garbage and found 100 euro under that garbage bag. So he gave that for the rent of the room amazing and he said thanks, shook his hand lol with the money in it so he got it back.
That same guy a few years ago had a debt of 250.000 euro, he had been an alcoholic for years and there was no way to pay it back and noone in church could help him either, so we prayed. It was vanished, only 250 left. Lately I heard that money from the banks is fake anyway, so that explains it. Just gone. Another guy had 19.000 debt, he had to go to prison for it, one day before he had to go to prison they called him. It was vanished. They couldn't find any debt in their computer anymore.

Umm Hmm. Our Father is good like that, so we can take Him at His Word, and He is not a respecter of persons. At my former congregation our pastor said pay your tithe. If you bring your tithe, the church will pay for your need. I think this is the way the tithe suppose to work because our Father does not lie.

Yes that's great. You can do that if the church is big and has some rich people who tithe.

Yeah as only God can see the heart. As really no offense, but it is none of our business except for God's.
