http://hillarydaily.com/brandon/2017/03/17/first-lesbian-bishop-orders-church-crosses-replaced-with-islamic-symbols-2/?utm_source=fn1

"the Bishop later took to her blog to explain that removing Christian symbols from the church and preparing the building for Muslim prayer doesn’t make a priest any less a defender of the faith. Rather, to do anything less would make one “Stingy towards people of other faiths.”

Next she'll be hiding the Savior all together from the world.

Is she a Lutheran Bishop - it says she is in Sweden and the state church there is/was Lutheran.

Not good, maybe they need to replace her. If the Muslims asked to use the church then theyshould expect symbols of the faith to be present, my question is why were the muslims allowed to use the church in the first place?

The link I gave isn't working anymore :( I don't recall what church organization she belonged to but she wasn't part of a main one that could demand her resignation from what I read.

I just googled and even though the article I read this morning was dated today, it was actually written in 2015! http://www.breitbart.com/london/201...h-remove-crosses-install-muslim-prayer-space/

"As an independent mission the church operates outside of the diocese, and so the bishop has no authority there, a fact reflected by the response of the church director who said the bishop’s words were her business alone."

Both links go to web sites that are very hostile to Democrats - the first was created in 2013 to combat Hillary Clinton's potential candidature and the second is notorious for incendiary comments about race and religion. I'd take their claims with more than a grain of salt.

So she is a Lutheran (or was a Lutheran) bishop in the Lutheran Church of Sweden.
The world's first lesbian bishop of a major Christian denomination, Eva Brunne of the Lutheran Church of Sweden is calling for the removal of the crosses and other Christian symbols at the Seamen's Church in Freeport so that visiting foreign sailors practicing other religions like Islam "would not be offended."

According to the Stockholm-based news outlet SVT.se, Brunne not only intends to remove the Christian symbols but also set up a prayer room inside the church that would cater to people of other religions, particularly Muslim visitors. She explained that by doing so, Muslim refugees entering Sweden will be more at ease.

"Making a room available for people of other faiths does not mean that we are not defenders of our own faith. Priests are called to proclaim Christ. We do that every day and in every meeting with people," Brunne reportedly said. "But that does not mean that we are stingy toward people of other faiths."

It's ridiculous. You can be welcoming to people of other faiths and races without denying who and what you are yourself.

Why is it a problem to say that this is a Christian church while still welcoming people of other faiths? If someone is truly offended by the presence of the cross, in a Christian church, they are free to pray elsewhere.

This sort of thing makes no more sense than a steak restaurant taking steaks off the menu in case visiting vegetarians were offended by the presence of meat. They can offer vegetarian options without taking the steaks off the menu.

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Where I live the local AoG removed all explicitly Christian symbols from their building about ten years ago.

I think maybe it is the pastors and bishops who need removing

Could be. As I recall the Presbyterian Churches in the denomination of which I was a member have very few if any crosses or other Christian symbols in their buildings.

In Australia there have been phases for Pentecostal churches - in the 1980s they were all "family church" then "community church" now they have a mix of "Christian church" and other similar names but they all lost their crosses and even communion tables about ten years ago.

For a guy who questions everything how many crosses and communion tables does your church have?

AoG (Assembly of God), they renamed themselves to Australian Christian Church for some historic reason or other but it left me wondering ... anyway, the removal of crosses and some sort of self-serve communion without any words of institution or blessing of the materials that they use for it is strange.

Actually I dont question everything not even close but we have a cross with a crown of thorns and a piece of cloth hanging ion it and as for communion we jave a service about once a month in each of the churchs I go to. Communion is a vital part of being a Christian, tjhe cross not so much but the idea that you had to get rid of it says a lot

Why is the cross not vital when that is where atonement was made?
