The Whole Armour of God

Hm I think it's for everyone else they get devoured. My son when he was just saved had the devil saying this and that the whole day. I told him to use the shield of faith and helmet of salvation. The devil bothered him with hell thoughts cause his dad was so smart to show him hell movies. I had that too when I was just saved. In church noone is gonna help you so best put that stuff on fast. I said tell your dad you don't have it anymore since he wanted him yo go to a psychologist who wanted to give him drugs. Jesus set you free. But then I'm lying. Nope. It's the truth. It's in the Word. He did, it was gone within a week.

Yes of couurse it is for everyone. The point I was trying to make was sometimes people do not have their armour on correctly. Usually the enemy does attack, especially in the mind, as your son was attacked. I am so happy that he came through and is ok. But,he needs to be assured in his mind that he is saved. You were on point sister telling him to use the shield of faith and the helmet of salvation. That is what he needed.

When I got baptized (re-), I spent that whole night being assaulted in my mind and ears, which led to physically being spent as well, and it was quite something I wasn't really prepared for or warned about, (or maybe I didn't take some of what I read about it seriously enough), but I was afraid to tell anyone, figuring I was just too evil to even be accepted by God or the body of Christ. But the next morning, I was able to talk to someone, and I wont go into details here, but little by little I've been set free from those lies, but the reminders are there, and I need Jesus every moment, and I'm so glad He's there and I dont have to be ashamed of it. I just hope some of what happened can be used to help another that may go through something similar. Paul's letter to the Ephesians has been a big help.
I'm so glad you're son came thru that ok. Thank you, Jesus.

Assurance of salvation is so important! It's also good to remember that one of the jobs of the angels is to protect the believers

This is very true, but, the angels do not dress us for battle. When we realize that there is a spiritual battle going on, we have to consider our role it it. Look at Daniel, laboring in prayer and fasting for twenty one days.

Dan. 10:12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

The angels do battle for us, but note, Daniel continued in prayer until the angel broke through with the answer to his prayer.

Yeesh)

I can almost picture God's Angels slapping themselves in the forehead and saying , 'I'm TRYING to help, here! Will you PLEASE put your helmet on right?!
And for crying out loud, pull your pants up!

Yes, I have often prayed for God to surround others or myself with His Holy Angels, for extra help and protection, but we sure do need that Armor, and I'm just now chuckling at your word picture of us sometimes having our helmet on backwards, (or how about not having the belt of truth on .... you know what THAT can lead to .... Definitely. You know, if the helmet is askew,you can't see the light. Yikes!:scared: And that can let doubt creep in. Oh yes, do tighten up that belt of truth (George Washington, "I cannot tell a lie", lie). The bible says all men are liars, so if you say you can't tell a lie, you lied. Does that make sense?

Be a proficient wielder of the sword of Truth which is the word of God. Jesus defeated satan by stating "It is written." . But satan knows the word also, but he twists it. So knowing the word(what is written) also means knowing when it is being manipulated with the lie.
