What is it with Amazon's pricing?

I've got a bunch of stuff in my Amazon "save for later" pile, mostly things I may buy at some point but don't need right now. There is one particular item I do want and, since the price has been a bit volatile, I'm watching to see if I can get it for \$20-30 cheaper than the current price.

So far today I've seen the price of one item change over and over again. It goes up by a few cents, then down by a few cents, and keeps bouncing around by trivial sums. But I do have to say I don't get hugely excited by the news that it has been reduced from \$308.22 to \$308.20 - a whopping TWO CENTS deducted from the cost of a \$300 item, especially when just a few hours earlier it was increased from \$280-odd to \$310 or so.

On my Wish List I've seen items change over the course of a month or two up to a $30 difference. Keep checking your list daily and if you're not in a hurry you might get a better deal.

Doubtful, if that were the case most of what's on my list would be fluctuating.
