I agree. The other two were pretty good too with Danny Glover in two and the other one, I can't remember the actors names.

Oh gosh...

I was such a big fan of science fiction until lately. Blade Runner, Star Trek, Star Wars, Aliens...and so much more.

And now I'm not sure I want to suspend belief anymore to watch them. That belief concerns the nature of our universe in certain respects that is not represented in films like this.

One could say the same thing about Fantasy like LOTR (another favorite genre) - except that it is not mixed in with what mankind considers progress

I wrote this just under a year ago.

And here's something I've discovered. When sharing honest questions with friends about the spinning globe "we all know" we live on - I watch the same reactions again and again. They know it is a perfectly honest and valid question. A look of confusion comes over their faces. They consider it but then the programming comes into play:

"What about the Red Bull jump?"

- If you watch as he exits the craft the horizon is flat

More confusion.

Almost immediately the subject of space entertainment comes up.

Then anger that that might be threatened by a different understanding of the place we live.

A year ago I wasn't sure if I could play with suspending my disbelief to watch science fiction entertainment for the sake of the human elements that are ultimately it's draw (love/hate/romance/heroism/fear/courage etc).

Now I'm sure. Science-fiction garbage is not on my viewing menu.

Star wars and the current crop of Marvel Comic inspired films are fine. They are not scary. Scary films are scary and I prefer not to watch them.

I saw that a while back, some time in 2015 or 2016 I can't remember which.

If you can do it without spoiling it for others, tell me what you thought about it.

I watched it once and didn't feel tempted to watch again.

So you didn't like it?

It was okay and some of it was interesting but on the whole I didn't like it enough to want to see it again.

I enjoyed it, mainly because I believe it to be prophetic in a variety of ways, the same way Limitless is. But that is my opinion of it.
