My mobile phone "contract" is monthly at $15/month and I get 200 mins call time and heaps of sms and 1 GB data. I rarely get even close to using 50% of it. But There is a competitor offering unlimited calls, sms, and 1 GB data for around $11/month. I've been procrastinating about making a swap.

oh mine is 45 pounds a month was a brand new phone samsung S7 edge latest phone out in march 2016. unlimited everything 2 GB data. virgin to virgin free.. but now its like 30 pounds really annoyed about it to. so phones them up today basically I should have waited .. just great eh.. kinda sucks to..oh well you live and learn i guess..

I saw an instructable on one and read the comments. People were getting very small amounts of voltage from a particular design, and of course this is not impressive or practical. The device used a simple circuit and a very small antenna. Could be carried in your pocket. However, if what he said is to be believed - one can increase voltage by placing a larger antenna at a higher elevation (such as a roof) and running a ground wire - along with more of the same circuits connected in parallel or series.
Someone responded that this was "stealing radio waves" and could cause a "radio black spot". Except - this device is supposed to work in the middle of no-where - where there are no radio waves to be picked up.
I'm intrigued. Do I part with 40 bucks? That is the question.

Perpetual motion machines and free energy from some simple discovery are silly ideas but seeing them described at length on YouTube and watching people express their credulity by affirming that energy is being created from nothing makes me go hmm.
