Hmmm again your opinion, I could also say the same for once saved also saved but by doing that I would comeagainst a whole denom and while I believe that it is better to just allow them their ideas unless they are open to being taught

It's not just my opinion. It can be demonstrated that they are false teaching.

As to OSAS, while I hold to the preservation of the saints, those who teach against it aren't necessarily false teachers. The teaching still falls within the pale of orthodoxy. The false teachers I mention that you hold in such high regard fall outside the pale and are thus heretics.

I don't like to see teachers who twist Scripture to make it appear to say something it doesn't say.

For what it's worth I think John MacArthur misses the mark, as well as thinking Bill Johnson is so wide of the mark it's not funny. That said if I was going to pick which way to err I'd want to err on the side of being overly conservative rather than on the side of adopting all sorts of silly theologies out of a sense of fear I might miss something.

If you believe that we are missing the message of Scripture, why not explain it? Why not explain why the people being labelled as false teachers here are actually sound?

It's easy to make vague comments about "the truth of Scripture" but unless you can demonstrate how Scripture applies in a particular situation what you have is little more than a generic "you just don't get it" comment that means nothing, an empty "you're wrong" with no indication of what is wrong or why.

Well he had to be doing something for those three days, and I suppose the claim he went to hell sounds more interesting than having him kicking his heels or twiddling his thumbs.

1Pe 3:18-19 talks of Jesus preaching "to the spirits in prison" (NKJV) but it's a huge leap to go from that to believing Jesus was tortured in hell.

Preaching heresy disqualifies one from being a "great man of God". This isn't about infallibility. It's about blatant heresy.

We know from scripture that He descended into hell and arose on the third day. My understanding of that is that He preached to the righteous side of hell and then led them out
