That's a broad question brother George. From what I have heard and seen the old testament is mainly read in the context given by the new testament so the old laws, sacrifices, practises and prophecies are read through the filter of the gospels.

In the Old Testament God teaches us about sin and gives the promise of the Savior. Today we have seen that promise was fulfilled.
