It was his demeanor overall and the cheap shots. It reaffirmed my opinion that if he had the power of the military he would get us into a war very quickly not to mention that I think he is voitile and unhinged to some extent

We already have men overseas battling some enemies. How would Trump make it even different? I was scared for my nephew for his two tours of duty in the Middle East and am fortunate he returned home without injury or death. I don't see any candidate saying he/she will pull the troops out completely.

He might threaten because he's a shark of a businessman, but he's too savvy to be that careless.

What I have seen of his demeanor and how quickly someone can get under his skin I am not so sure of that

From what I read on it, most are saying Clinton took this first debate. Trump reportedly did little to prepare and it showed, according to the analyses I read. One analyst commented that Trump was counting on his usual "alpha male shtick" continuing to carry him.

I'm reading a few comments that said Hillary won, although seeing a whole lot more that essentially said the debate won't have changed any votes. Honestly, even if either candidate had completely obliterated the other I suspect many of the people watching weren't looking to change their mind. Many of the comments I've seen from people I know fall into entirely predictable patterns of Republicans criticising Hillary's performance and Democrats criticising Trump's performance.

Personally I can't help thinking watching those two debate would be like watching a Punch and Judy show, funny if not for the fact it tells the world these are the most inspiring two candidates the country can come up with.

In reality, Trump had a very good debate and Hillary did rather poorly. It might not seem that way, but it is pretty obvious after you "read the stitches on the fastball."

The main goal Trump had in this first debate was to show that he can act presidential and will not explode & fly off the handle. He satisfied many people in all three of those areas, including Pennsylvania Democrats who changed their support from Hillary to Trump.

When Hillary began machinegunning all those personal lies about Trump at the end of the debate, Trump refused to take the bait. Instead, he may have won the election by the way he chose to react. Instead of making some very harsh -- and truthful -- references to all the women that her husband has bedded, Trump said he saw their daughter in the audience and could not bring himself to fire that particular fastball at Hillary because he didn't want to say those things with her sitting there. He probably SHOULD have said it -- because it is true and because it would have challenged the lies Hillary was mouthing -- but he chose the high road.

And this may very well be remembered as the moment when Trump won the election.

Notice that the other Democrat in the debate, Lester Holt, interrupted Trump about 47 times to only 9 times for Hillary. And, while he fact checked (with INCORRECT info) Trump, he never challenged Hillary. Nor did he ever ask any questions about her criminal email scandal (except briefly), her causing those deaths in Benghazi, her role in the failing Obamacare scheme, her disasterous exit from Iraq that created ISIS, etc.

She was pretty much left off the hook by Holt while Holt kept hammering Trump over the fake issue over Obama's birthplace. This is not an issue, it is only an item -- and this item has nothing to do with who is best qualified to be president.

In addition, almost all the polling taken online -- except for the Clinton News Network (AKA, CNN) -- showed a massive debate victory for Trump. One of these polls -- by the Washington Times -- actually gave 2% of the vote to HOLT for his debate with Trump, ala Candy Crauley.

Senator Ted Cruz -- infamously one of Trump's biggest enemies -- made a statement on Tuesday that this was Trump's best debate ever, by far. And Cruz should know -- he was the debating champion of the USA.

All in all, Hillary's highly mechanical utterings of those pre-written insults, along with her snooty demeanor only served to fortify the public's perception of her as a very dishonest, nasty person. On the other side of the coin, Trump showed that he does not explode with anger and is quite capable of exhibiting VERY president-like behavior.

A very good night for Trump -- and to think there are TWO MORE debates to go with Hillary.

No, I still think neither candidate is qualified to run the country. I still see Trump as the bigger threat to world peace.
