yes, altho it held little of interest to me. I'm more interested in what the bible says than in what people say about it.

thats the whole point .. the bible (new testament ) is written in Greek .. the bible states eccelesia .. but MAN used the word "church" which has a different meaning to the word ecclesia.
so rethink.. do you really care what the "bible says" ?

nice TWIST .. the article is about the "word" church its origin and meaning .. and about the word ecclesia and its meaning ....

Both Kiriakon Doma and Ecclesia are of Greek origin. If you want to label the former as pagan because it is of Greek origin then you ought also label the latter pagan because it too is of Greek origin. But church is an English word that does in fact mean assembly of the faithful as well as the body of Christ. "Church building" has the same meaning as "assembly hall" except that a church building is almost always understood to be a reference to the place where Christians gather for regular worship. None of these things is pagan.

There is a big difference on knowing about Him than believing in Him.

When you do the second, yo do what He said you to do.

The Holy Spirit guides us into knowing Him by His Word. Don't you agree?

The problem is that the actions do not reflect that those people got Jesus message.

I mentioned before:
Believing on Sunday resurrection
Believing that those 2 hours to attend the worship service is everything yo need to do and forget what worship is. Those 2 hours are not worship, they are a praise service. Worship is 24/7/366.
Doing it on a brick/mortar place.
Should do it in the world. In your business transacyions: paying the right salary to your employees, not doing what is incorrect. Loving your wife, kids, parents, and your christian brother and any other human beings and animals and plants. Not getting mad on the freeway, etc, etc.

It is becoming a friend of Jesus.

Never on Sunday.
Jesus was never resurrected on Sunday.

He was resurrected on His day on His Father's Day.

He is a obedient son.

ARE WE?

You didn't respond to my question. Don't you think the Holy Spirit guides us into knowing Him by His Word? He can do it on any day of the week, even on a Sunday in a CHURCH building where people go to worship.

The Holy Spirit speaks with the Truth and teaches the Truth.

The Christian church does worship God in a brick/mortar church on Sundays.

They do this all over the world.

So 3 things are incorrect, so what happened to the Holy Spirit?

He was not there? Why?

Jesus in Revelation said had He will vomit the Laodicean church because what?

Its poor commitment to the word of God.

People may not agree to this but it is the truth.

Check it out on His BOOK.

Is all there.

Scriptures state that where 2 or 3 are gathered in His name He is there. Now you say He's not. I prefer to trust the Bible. I also prefer to trust that God's Word is effective in working in the Christian to do God's Will. The Holy Spirit has not left us on our own.

its an analogy of a person reaction to what they value the most ..

It's not even close to being an indication of what they value the most. I've got an expensive carriage clock in my living room. If you went to throw it on the floor I'd physically throw you out of my house. It's nothing to do with whether I put the clock before God, it's just an issue that it's special to me and it's frankly more special to me than someone trying to make a point by destroying it.

An idol is something we put in God's place, not something that is valuable to us. There's a vast difference between the two.

and a very accurate one . what hold much worth to you you rush to defend .. like rcc folk when you mention images of Mary being bowed down to (and yes i have personally observed it many many many many times ) they RUSH to defend it ..proving its worth to them and thus the idolatry of it .

i brought up the idolatry od spots a few times ...wow did so called Christians rush to defend their beloved idols lol ..vehemently- but you knew what i meant

There's really no need to take another bash at the RCC. I'm not a Catholic myself but a Catholic-specific bash here isn't really relevant to the topic. Sometimes people do defend idols, sometimes people merely defend a lifestyle against an accusation that's little more than a logical fallacy, like the idea that not wanting some random person to break my stuff means I place it above God. The fact someone defends a viewpoint doesn't mean that viewpoint is an idol to them, it just means they think they are right and you are wrong.

Using your own reasoning I could point out that in the other thread about healing you're so quick to defend your viewpoint that God always heals despite clear and apparent evidence to the contrary that it's an idol to you. How does that work for you?

and you raise a valid point .
Jesus said the cares for the THINGS of this world and the deceitfulness of riches will cause us to become unfruitful
and he warns and unfruitful branch will be cut off and cast in the fire

If the cares of this world take the place of God in our hearts then of course we will become unfruitful. That's a totally different proposition from not wanting someone to break the things we own just to make a point. If God calls me to get rid of my expensive carriage clock then it's gone. If God calls me to give it to someone else then it's theirs. If some goon decides to break it just to find out whether or not I value it they'll get bodily ejected from my house in short order.

Again, let's take your logic here and run with it. I feel like renting a bulldozer and turning your house into a pile of rubble. I assume you're OK with that, because you wouldn't want your cares for the things of this world to cause you to become unfruitful, would you? You wouldn't want to stop the bulldozer, and demonstrate that your house is an idol to you, right?

The question is:

Are you gathering in His name?

Did anybody go and checked those other 3 threads regarding Sabbath vs. Sunday?

You could ask visionary, she was there.

I already mentioned about what worship is.

And Alithis has been presenting what the ekklesia (church) should be.

Three strikes and you are out.

Of course. Even if it's done on Sunday, which you disagree with, and in a church, which you disagree with, it's all focused on our Lord and Savior. Not man.

I asked a question of you three times concerning God's Word and the Holy Spirit and you have yet to respond.

That's the general intention. Sometimes we gather in church, sometimes we gather in the pub, sometimes we gather in someone's back yard or in the park. We can gather in the name of Christ wherever and whenever two or more have the time and inclination (and, of course, a suitable venue)
