Cosmologists have begun modelling the universe for the first time using Einstein's full general theory of relativity, which will lead to the most accurate possible models of the universe and provide new insights into gravity and its effects. :cool:

Back to the link though. It looks like they even have to simplify his theories in order to code them for the computer models. Intense!

Yes, these models have proved invaluable in gaining understanding about some of the implications of current scientific theories, and comparison of the outcomes of these simulations with observed reality is naturally a good indicator of a model's accuracy. It sounds like this new technique will speed up progress in cosmology. :D
