-now since the topic is about sharing the gospel.. which is a message of good news -i continue to share "HOW to " - as i have experienced it to be extremely effective to do so.. by letting the message itself be the power god intended it to be

so i have now stated it based fully upon scripture alone .
--------

the Gospel is the most simple clear cut message there is .. it is such a precise simple message that the apostles and disciples who followed after them maintained the preaching of it in a "script like manner "

it comes in two simple parts .

the message and the response to the message .
the message must be preached (declared )
the response must be taught -(people dont always know how to respond to the message .

-so here it is

the message(simplified) is this : JESUS came to us and became one of us ,he was put to a violent death on the cross for OUR SIN (for he was innocent ) he lay in the ground three days and three nights and he rose again from the dead and live forever more

the response to be taught is ."repent and be baptised and you will receive the Holy Ghost (the holy Ghost is the eternal living spirit of god ..ie- eternal life )

THATS IT .. that is how simply the message is .. the lord JESus told them to preach repentance for the forgivness of sin and to baptise them and make more disciples (ie teach others to do the same healing them driving out demons preaching the gospel baptising them raising the dead and getting them baptized in the holy Spirit . )

1 Jesus -2 death- 3 resurrection
1 repent 2 baptized 3 receive holy Ghost .

on the day of pentecost peter delivered this exact message after his explanation he says .. this jesus(1) whom who crucified (2 death) has risen from the dead (3 )

and when they ask "what must we do to be saved", he replies (1) repent (2) be baptized (3) declares the promise of the holy Ghost (eternal life )

we repent to the father are baptisd into the death and resurrection of the son and recive the Holy Spirit - and are thus reconciled to "the GODhead " (3 as one) .

that is HOW SIMPLE THE GOSPEL IS ..

Paul states "i am not ashamed of the Gospel of christ Jesus for IT is the power of God unto to salvation to everyone that believes ........"

the disciples of Jesus (all who believe and obey and go on to learn to be like him) continued this same massage like "a script " a spiritual power occurs when this script is spoke in faith of obedience ..the mention of the cross and the sin brings shame on people who beleive .i have seen this occur with my own eyes ..i have seen people fall silent i have seen them manifest demons upon hearing this message and i have seen god give signs to them that the message(gospel) is the truth .

the disciples followed this script so faithfully that some 18 years later paul writes to the corinthians saying in
1 Corinthians 15:2.....and on "
Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it. It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you—unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place.
I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.

this simple simple simple good news has been blurrd covered up complicated and confused by the spirit of THIS WORLD .. when in all TRUTH ..it is as simple as
123 123

JESUS , death for our sin , resurrection

repentance, baptism for the remission of sin , holy Ghost

lets get back to doing it .
when we die to self and speak this message .it has power to save those that believe and show they believe by their obedience to it .

tango

... and you shall live ...

When you share the Gospel with someone, what do you tend to say?

Do you ever tell the person God forgives him/her?

I think "God forgives you" is too conditional on the person repenting for me to categorically say that God has or hasn't forgiven them. 1Jn 1:8-9 is clear - if we confess our sins we are forgiven. It's easy to persuade someone to kneel and recite "the sinner's prayer" but with no way of knowing their sincerity I have no way of knowing whether they truly repented or not, and as such have no way of knowing whether or not they are forgiven.

I'd focus more on the fact that forgiveness is available if we repent.

I like Josiah's comment about being prepared to give an answer for the hope that is within us. If someone does see something in us that appeals to them that's the obvious "in" to start the discussion, at which point we can talk based on their questioning. That's so much better than what some call evangelism, where people twist conversations to try and lever Jesus into it somehow even when the person they are talking to is clearly not interested.

what amazes is me is how many "other " things people wil speak - other the the actual gospel - the seeker friendly attitude which insists that your god works cannot save you but some how your good works can save some one else ? ..not so . telling some one "jesus loves you " is fine .but as a stand alone statement it can be dangerous . for they go their way thinking "i am ok because jesus loves me , that christian told me so .. yet they are utterly at enmity with god and utterly unsaved .
paul's states "i am not ashamed of the gospel for "it " is the power of God unto salvation - not a part of it ..all of it .

be freed to speak it

If you see someone in despair you won't think it's God's will to let them know they're forgiven of their sins?

If you see some one hungry..you feed food to them .
If some one is oppressed you drive out the oppressor. Drive out demon.
If lost. You find them..if cut off from God you reconcile them to him.
If sick.. You heal them ..all these things we do in Jesus name.
Thee good news itself contains the power to save those who recieve and respond accordingly.
This morning i met a lady who voiced a desire to be free off ciggerttes.so i offered to pray and she agreed.so we cast out that addiction causing spirit. And shared the god news of Jesus to her as detailed in former posts here.. Encouraging to tun to God..repent.. Be baptised for the remission of sin and recieve the holy Spirit.

5 mins later i met a lady who mentione. She suffered from epilipsy.. So i prayed for her and told that demon to go. Then i shared the good news of jesus. We cannot share the gospel in word alone but in deed.and in the manifestation of his power.

Of COURSE we can share the Gospel in Word alone. It's God's Word that changes us into new creations, not our deeds towards others.

I'm the worst at sharing the gospel outside of forums. My kids don't relate to verses well but examples from the world around seem be the place for putting forth the truth of the gospel in whatever way I can. My friends I don't judge. My Christian siblings & I don't talk much because of where they are in their walk. Friends from church I don't see anymore after most left when paid preachers were brought in. I used to street preach but don't anymore. Too many people selling things other than Jesus.

But if I were to share the gospel now I'd ask them what they think about Jesus and stay on that topic.

A lot of people want to hear about the Jesus who is tolerant of all. You know the guy, he ate with tax collectors ;) They don't want to know that He died to save them from their sins since they minimize their sins in the first place.

The God of love is what is preached and that is fine but to many forget the God of judgement

Maybe the best thing to ask is "where do you stand with God" I think most people would be able to answer that honestly

We all fail miserably ;) That's why we need the Savior, every day.
