Even gold's value is manipulated. It may be that ownership of profitable land is the best hedge against such manipulation as is described in the video. But even land cannot be relied upon in a revolution where property is expropriated by force of arms. Violence has a way of perverting and destroying not only a person's property but also his/her life.

It is a fact that everything I possess can be taken from me. I could not offer effective resistance to an armed mob, the police, or even a few burly young men out to rob me. I would not want a gun with which to shoot them. I do not think I would be 'safe' if I had one. By the way I do trust God.

One can defend without guns. Defence without killing, wounding, or otherwise shooting at people is possible.

If it is equality you're after then the assailant will also have a gun and it becomes a matter of the quick or the dead. First to shoot lethally "wins".
