I do miss XP, but MS will not support it any more. Alas.

I received windows 10 free of charge, but my PC from 2011 had windows 7 on it so it was upgraded to windows 10 when I have permission for it to upgrade.

I think that Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 8.1 were created for money. Windows XP worked but apparently it has problems with weaknesses that viruses can exploit. I do not know if Windows 10 is safer but it does have support and XP doesn't.

At the moment I'm still using Windows, until I get another small computer. That will be soon. I've been dragging my feet. I could have done this (switch to Linux) a month ago or more. Spending too much time wasting time lately.

No, and I've never heard of it. My current desk area suits another very small computer for running a Linux system, and a Windows one as well under another drive should I feel I need it. I don't need large computing power for my needs, as I don't use my computer for graphic intensive games or anything. My visual art and sound editing also works fine under a relatively bare bones hardware system such as I am using now under Windows.

See here >>> http://www.google.com.au/chromebook/about/ <<< for information about chromebooks.

Windows 10 is the operating system that I use the most. It's the latest OS released by Microsoft and provides all the features that I need. Nonetheless, I am excited about what they have planned for Windows 11.
