Aren't you also a Christian?

If flying a Christian flag is offensive to those who don't identify with it (i.e. non-Christians) why is flying an American flag any less offensive to those who don't identify with it (i.e. non-Americans)?

Why is one flag offensive to those who don't identify with it while another flag isn't offensive?
If you are in America and a citizen then you should have no problem with our flag and if you are a visitor you should respect that country or else not visit

If they are in this country then they have no right to take offense to our flag flying

I never said the US flag was offensive, I merely asked why one flag is offensive if another one is not. Either flags are offensive to those who don't identify with them, or they aren't. If a Christian flag is offensive to non-Christians then why isn't the Stars and Stripes offensive to non-Americans?

To some it is, different times and countries have burned our flag and shown hatred for this country, for a cirtizen to do that is just wrong and I believe illegal. As to the christian flag usually it is in chuirchs and not outside so anyone taking offence to it should not if in a church as for outside they are free to take offense just as the church is free to fly it or an individual on their property.

I'm not sure you've answered my question.

I realise that some flags are offensive to some people. In the UK a few years ago there was a big fuss because some people were claiming that flying the Union Flag was a racist gesture because it was offensive to non-Britons who didn't identify with it. (Some went as far as saying it was offensive to black people, but that argument rather fell flat when a black British athlete won an Olympic gold medal and proudly wrapped herself in the Union Flag to celebrate her achievement).

The question is, if you're afraid that one flag might be offensive to people who don't identify with it then surely the best course of action is not to fly any flags at all. If you fear a Christian flag might offend non-Christians it makes no sense to fly another flag that might equally offend those who don't identify with it.

Personally I dont care if someone finds a flag offensive, I will fly what I will fly as being PC never was my way. I will explain my motives if someone wishs to ask but I will not buckle under to popular opinion.

That wasn't the question either, but never mind...

Personally, I think government run establishments (public schools, courthouses, etc.) should fly the American flag highest (even in TX., confoundit!!), but churches should be allowed to fly their denominational flag higher if they so choose. As an atheist, seeing a Christian flag flying higher than the U.S. flag above a church wouldn't bother me one bit, and in fact I can see the logic there.
