music not for everyone, reminds me of a campmeeting I was at and I was singing a song and an older woman who was nice but hated contemporary music said she liked it and I pointed out to her that it was some of that hated contempory music

WHAT... on... earth... :boggled:

I have the same reaction ..also when i see throngs of people carrying a statue of mary down the street..
We know on Both cases...something is seriously wrong.
In the charasmatic case i see it and speak out ... I only wish others would of thier own also.

Excellent, where and when do you speak out? Do you speak out against things like the "holy ghost hokey poky"?

Why not. We all fight for what we believe to be right and true unless we don't think it is important. If it is not important then we don't really believe it.

A lot of Christians are silent and dont speak out, look at our laws concerning abortion and gay marriage, if we did speak out and actually stand together to elect people with outr values these things would not happen

Reminds me of a 'gospel' tune from the Pentecostal church that drove me nuts every time I heard it.
"No matter what the weapon is, I want you to know that 'I Win'!"
Chorus: I win, I win, I win, I win, I win, I win...

Almost like John 10:27 in reverse - "I hear the voice of my sheep, and they know me, and I follow them"
Ummmmmmm.... no.

Twisting scripture and then denying that it is being done happens all over and isn't that so sad? Don't they realize that they turn away from the Savior and to themselves when they do that? Well, of course they don't otherwise they wouldn't have turned and be blinded by trying to be perfect instead of relying on Jesus' perfection and obedience so that we can live for Him.

If we "(stood) together to elect people with our values", then no-one would win, but that's for another thread...

Really? What do you think has been done already, you would cry fould if we voted together and stood as onwe like others have done surrounding these issues. I think far many more would win as you say, at the least it would be balanced

I imagine that USA Christians vote exactly how they want to vote already. Here in CH USA Christians have different beliefs and different politics so out in the wider community we ought not to expect things to be different. Some will vote Democrat and some Republican and some will vote for other people and parties.

Much of the dependable BASE of the Democratic Party and liberalism in the USA are Catholics. They tend to vote pro-abortion, pro-same gender marriage, and pro all liberal causes. I KNOW the bishops are very upset by this but Catholics don't seem to give a rip. Many of the most liberal Democrats in government are Catholics. There ARE exceptions, of course (Marco Rubio was one - but didn't get support from Catholics). African Americans and Catholics are the two, huge, blocks within the Democrat Party that the Democrats can count on. Labor use to be but not so much now.

^^^This. There isn't any real "standing together" as it were. it's unattainable.
