Hello to everyone. I just realized I don't think I've ever written an intro post in most forums, and it feels a bit awkward, not really wanting to go on about myself.

I'm Eastern Orthodox by conversion, love my parish and my Church family, sing in the choir, and seek the grace and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, while trusting in His goodness.

And I apologize in advance that I might make all kinds of typos, since the font appears so tiny on my tablet's screen, even after trying various settings. I just hope the silly autocorrect doesn't insert anything completely insane for me - not sure why I can type a sentence correctly and it will decide that I must have meant something else 3 or 4 words back and change it for me. I fear I may not catch those in here. ;)

Have a lovely evening/day, all of you.

Welcome Anastasia :)

The auto-correct sometimes has fits of Tourette Syndrome, so if you find yourself typing out a prayer or well wish to another member, and after you hit post a bunch of obscenities and false exclamations about sexual habits pops out that have no business being on a public forum, don't sweat it, you'll have plenty of time to edit them out and hope it doesn't happen again.

Just kidding ;) But that concern did have me chuckling.

Welcome to the forum.

It's great to have you here. My phone will change words on a whim as well much to my embarrassment.

Thank you all! I'm still figuring out the controls here, but I think I'll get it mostly sorted out. :)

Well, aren't you a ray of Sunshine? ;) (Which autocorrect apparently thinks is a name?)

Thank you - I think LOL. :) But seriously, it's not usually anything that bad. Normally it's just totally nonsensical. It does have a mischievous habit of changing random instances of the word "has" into "gas" with sometimes embarrassing results. What I have difficulty understanding is how I can type a perfectly common word correctly, like "house" for example, and the thing will go back and change it to some obscure word that doesn't even have letters in place in common, like "napifolious".

Perhaps my tablet needs to be exercised [edit: EXORCISED - and I spelled it correctly. My tablet wants to avoid the priest and take a nice walk instead. My point is slightly confirmed. ;) ]. Maybe it's infested with minor gremlins. ;)

Just ask your tablet "Do you reject Satan and all his deceits?" and hope it says "yes" :)

LOL!

I'm almost afraid to ask it!

You'd think that since 99% of it's use includes things like Christian discussion forums, reading Scripture and spiritual books, playing hymns and Orthodox podcasts, chatting with monks and priests, and those sorts of things, it would be sanctified by now. Must be those evil Sudoku and Kakuro puzzles I play sometimes. :p

An aging ipad mini. Dark reputation, inferiority complex, and getting grumpy with age. No wonder then ...

Careful it may explode just to punish you for not upgrading it :p

I have an old Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.

I also have a recently acquired Teclast tPad G3. Both are well behaved :)

Well, I'm probably replacing the tablet soon. There is not enough memory to upgrade anything, and I've had to delete apps down to a skeleton crew just to keep those few working. My carrier will give me a free tablet with only the obligation to keep it on our account, which I would do anyway, so I might as well have it.

The phone is another matter. I've been planning to upgrade for maybe 4-5 years? I thought I had forced the matter a few days ago when my phone slid off the passenger seat and dipped into a cup of water, but I managed to save it. I'm thinking maybe you mean Note 1? There's not a 10 yet, is there? I think 4 was the newest one I saw? I really wanted a Note, but it looks like Samsung has others with good photo capabilities and not so large. My hands are small, and I think trying to use a Note for a phone would be very awkward for me. I can barely hold my husband's iPhone 6.

It is a Galaxy Note 10.1 the 10.1 refers to the screen diagonal length in inches. This is what it looks like. It is old.

Oh, I see. Somehow I thought you were talking about a phone and a tablet, not two tablets. I misunderstood. I haven't seen that Note 10. :)
