Interesting pocket watches ... cheap

Pocket watches, more for men than women but some would be attractive to women too. I ordered one ... I wonder what it will turn out like ... it cost me $3.32 AUD

I like pocket watches. I like clocks in general but prefer mechanical ones to quartz ones.

I have something like 15 clocks in the house, and three pocket watches. One pocket watch doesn't work. Then I have about 150 wristwatches that work and another 50 odd that don't. ..

Maybe not. Not all of the clocks work. As it happens a local lady whose laptop I fixed a couple of years back just gave me a box of clocks she wanted to get rid of. I've still got a dead clock in the closet that she gave me when I fixed her laptop. For good measure a dead clock she sold me is still in pieces in a box pending me figuring out how to replace the hairspring in the balance wheel.

It will be interesting to see how many of the 50 dead wristwatches I can get working again. Chances are most of them just need a battery. But first I need to sell some of the other ones.

I have a little problem with my body where it causes wristwatches to freak out and stop working...like strange stuff! It happened once on the bus on the way to jr. high and my friend couldn't believe how strange the watch was acting and then ...it just died.

Many of my formal dress trousers have a pocket watch pocket. Sometimes they call it a "change" pocket.

I resurrected a pocket watch I bought in California in 2001. It was inexpensive but pretty-ish. Nice face ....

It still works, takes a 377 button battery. I put a new on in it a day or two ago and it started again. I was pleased.

It looks like this:

But mine is better especially on the inside.

They are fairly cheap, a few dollars. But of you have no use for one I suppose there's no point buying one.
