Orange is connected to Protestantism in the English (and Flemish) world.

Green with Catholicism.

Blue with Orthodoxy.

It is interesting that Black seem to be associated with some forms of Islam ...

Men assign meanings to almost anything to appease the deep desire for religion. God has given us the ability with the eye and with His creation of light, to see a myriad of colours and to appreciate them for their beauty. In heaven there will be millions of colours, revealed by perfect light. That men would subject colour to some sort of flimsy meaning is just...well...so...secular.

I remember when I was a teen and on St. Patrick's Day a guy was trying to get everyone to wear Orange to support Protestants on that day instead of green. I don't look good in orange.

I'm not sure what colors are attributed to other religions though.

How is Black associated with Islam when green is most prominent in their mosques?

I did say "some forms of Islam".

Green is also associated with other forms of Islam and blue too.

When I think of colors and scripture I think of red, and white.

I think one signifies sacrifice and the other purity.

Faith in selfless Unity for Good.

Red is the liturgical colour for martyrs and white for (or gold) for special memorial and celebratory days.
