1.The Bible does not forbid anyone to pray.
2.I believe the spirits of the dead in Christ are indeed alive in Christ. I believe they pray praises to our Lord and King Jesus Christ. They, unlike those of us in physical bodies imho don't need to intersede for us, for Lord Jesus taught us how to pray for ourselves. Whether they do or don't is not written. I guess people can believe what they want to believe about this. All things are permissible but not all things are profitable. I guess you have to ask if it profits the living to petition those who have transitioned from earth to Glory.
3. Just my opinion so don't shoot me. I believe people who address spirits other than the Holy Spirit can attract to themselves familiar spirits posing as spirits of relatives or saints. I know a lot of Christians do not believe in evil spirits anymore, but just because people do not believe in them does not make them go away. The devil poses as an angel of light we are told, so we must be aware of his devices.
heres a thought ..why does paul write no epistles addressed those departed from us .
