We all have our thoughts when we see cops turns their lights on and off going through a traffic signal. But what about cases where they use their lights for their own gain like trying to get through fast and what not?

This "bugs" me....

Actually, I think as a general rule, traffic cops are among the WORSE drivers on the road. I've witnessed MANY that are going way over the speed limit (no lights, no emergency.... sometimes I pull right up to them at the next stop light). I've witnessed many not make a full stop at a stop sign. I've witnessed many NEVER use their turn indicators - for anything. I've witnessed many park illegally - again, with no emergency, no lights. Sometimes sitting in their car - parked illegally - for long periods of time (the engine running, polluting the air)... and sometimes the car parked illegally, engine running, and no one is in the car (waiting for some stupid teen to steal it?).

Now, I accept that cops are not sinless (JUST AS I'M NOT). But on the other hand, I think it is reasonable, just and right for them while on duty in a marked car, to at least generally abide by the rules THEY enforced, THEY ticket others for violating. Perfect driving? Probably not..... but driving not obviously and purposely violating what they state is wrong and condemnable.

No, I'm NOT going to make a citizens' arrest (and they know it) LOL. I'm too smart for that, lol. BUT it does bother me.

I've never seen anyone not willing to pull over for an ambulance.

It's possible they have done that...but isn't it also possible they got a call and then it got canceled or was given to a closer squad car?
