I'm never one to go crazy when a celebrity dies but David Bowie was one of my favorites since I was a teenager. This thread isn't meant to idolize the guy at all because he was just a man. He oozed talent though so I'm asking, what were some of your favorite David Bowie pieces? Did you know he just released a new album before he passed?

I loved Ziggy Stardust, Fame, and the movie Labyrinth.

Hi Lam. I kind of knew about his work, but never really listened to him or bought his music. I am sorry he has passed away. Condolences to his family friends and fans.

I wasn't really a fan of his music but he obviously had a lot of talent. What a far cry from the mass produced dross of today.

David Bowie and Lemmy Kilmister may not have been to everyone's taste but at least they had something to say.

I was totally shocked to hear of his death. I didn't know he had been sick for so long. He was my favorite singer/band from when I was 15 years old, many years ago. I have several of his cds. I had the original albums at one time but then got the cds when they came out. I loved Young Americans, Let's Dance, China Girl, Across the Universe, Space oddity, Ziggy Stardust, Rock n roll star and many others. This is a good one, too:

I don't think the whole album is on youtube. I looked for it. It's probably on itunes but I've never been to that site yet.

Lazarus is a striking piece of work! He knew he was dying and I'm glad he got to make his final album and actually get to see it released before his passing.
