I'm tired of going to churches where the pastor preaches sermons with topics and information that the average 2nd grader in Sunday School should know. I want to feel inspired when I hear a message and maybe even learn something. Is that asking too much? I feel like most sermons I have heard the last few years are really watered down and a waste of my time

You must remember that not all have the same theological understanding that you seem to have acquired over the years.

He has to preach to those that can only handle milk as well as those that can chew steak.

You at one time were of the milk class.

Many, many pastors would love to preach in a manner that is more educational and inspiring but the problem is that too much information can cause problems for a portion of the congregation who are always looking for another Church to attend that meets their needs or liking.

so it is difficult to pinpoint exactly what the majority would like to have in a preaching service.

also, we have the fact that .....Life has become very stressful especially, here lately, many, many people live in a state of feeling so much fear, panic, trauma, anxiety and worry and in a state of emergency, their whole life is dictated by the politicians and their deputy agents whom have no concern for a mother or father that has to suddenly rush home every day and nearly commit suicide at nearly 100 miles an hour just to make sure their little son or daughter makes it to the front door of their home safely..

people have no idea what stranger, from who knows where - from what part of the planet - with what intentions - has just stepped across the border yesterday and happened to walk down their sidewalk passing their little child along the way.

this is what the civilian citizen working class public have to face every single day of their life 24 / 7

but what makes it so dangerous is that there are very little to no consequences for the perpetrator and the enabler and this is just one situation out of thousands of others, where the civilian citizen working class public lives in a constant state of emergency, fear, panic, trauma, worry and anxiety

, it would be one thing if we were living in early
18th century America where things happen without the law around to stop criminals, but at least back then, the public would have the decency and courtesy to handle the criminal in a proper way and to take steps to ensure the future safety of those around them.

The Churches have been forced into becoming Socialist Services for the irresponsible Public - with negative consequences placed upon the Churches for preaching Biblical values - even a report or rumor of sexual abuse can shut a whole church down permanently and good Christians will stop attending due to the public scandal.

But for a Socialist Type Church " Completely Embedded " entirely into to the Socialist Government there is no amount of sexual abuse that can shut down this type church and its attendees will keep coming back no matter how many victims there are of sexual abuse -

the Government of the United States will protect its own fanatical interests and protect those churches that promote its Militant Socialist values - while waiting in the darkness to silently crush the Church that preaches from the Bible.

Todays preachers are more expected to be as spiritual doctors that treat fear and panic, worry, trauma and emergency rather Preachers of the word of God, Just one single wrong passage of the Bible could bring someone knocking.

Just an observation here, one learned athe hard way during a long life: The quickest way to fail is trying to please everyone.

When you try to please everyone you usually end up pleasing no one.

Do you have an example you could post here? I'm curious as to what that would sound like.

I know many give sermons that sound more like motivational speeches.
