I wonder what John MacArthur uses for travel?
A 72 pinto I guess

What about his home,i hope it's not bigger than his flock.

I wonder how much he makes bashing Charismatic teaching ,and how much of his time is spent witnessing for Christ?

Let's pretend that this isn't a red herring.

How does MacArthur's home/car/witnessing affect what these men do? Does it somehow make it okay if his stuff is bigger?

What about the accompanying video? Do you dismiss that, too?

not a keen vid clip watcher -but i get the gist that in the video clip these two attempt to justify their ownership ,HUGE ongoing running cost , maintenance costs with the most ridiculous statements we may have ever heard "so that they can have private prayer times " ?

based on this clip as a stand alone thing ..(let's pretend i didn't know who they were etc) i can only ask .. if they have private aircraft ,im assuming they also have private residence and in that private residence they have a bedroom with a door and that door can be "closed" thereby giving them a private place to "pray" - making this the single most embarrassingly ridiculous attempted justification of living excessively that i have ever heard .

i do believe the apostle peter used the "roof ' of some places he stayed ..perhaps they wil next tell us they consider the jet to be their roof top ?

Itruly believe that God looks at the heart and not the amount or kind of stuff someone has. Abraham, Job and many others were very rich but all God did was search the heart. Being judgemental is not a fruit of the spirit

as do I -and you will note that Abraham etc did not pursue wealth via television appeals . "GOD-caused their increase . Abraham even turned down wealth offered to him for he said he did not want a man to be able to say "i made Abraham rich" -so we see the heart is worn(displayed) outwardly by the action .

im not opposed to the charisiamtic circles ,just not a super fan (as iv said i prefer the pentecostal movement- pre prosperity doctrine days)

i find these prosperity focussed ministries to be a source of utter embarrassment that bring as much shame to the gospel as the mary worshipers do with their twisted false teachings .
though i attended some denominations i in no way approve or endorse nor propagate blatant falsehood just becaseu its a preferred denomination. we cannot follow both a denomination and the lord JESUS -we simply cannot serve two masters .this applies to AL denominations .if i was to say it only applied againt some then i too would be dishonest on the matter.

so lets keep it HONEST ... do they need a private aircraft for prayer times ..NO they do not no one does .
does James say .. Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.
Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.
Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.
..? yes he does say that .
to be good stewards of that which is given us we must let it slide through our hands as ones ministering to others what the lord has given us to minster with . not as one hoarding unto ones own comforts in a day when one's own brethren suffer . i wil be harsh (when aren't i these days in saying things straight ) - we MUST agree that it is embarrassingly ridiculous to justify a private jet by saying it is a place for private prayer when a seat on a public airliner will suffice in taking you to your destination and hey you can go to the bathroom if you need private prayer that badly .

Being judgmental is not a fruit of the spirit, but neither is giving money to someone who feels the need to travel in relative opulence particularly good stewardship.

If Mr Copeland has the means to fund a private jet that's his business. He just won't be getting any of my money to pay for it. If he tries to persuade people that it's critical for his ministry then I'd suggest that he's abusing the trust people may be placing in him - if he truly can't get to where he needs to be using regular scheduled flights perhaps he doesn't need to be going there at all.

You don't even need to go to the bathroom. I used to ride commuter trains into central London where I'd be lucky to get a seat at all. If I got a seat on the packed train I'd often just sit back and use the time to pray. Other commuters would have seen me resting on the headrest with my eyes closed and probably assumed I was catching up on some sleep. It's hard to see how someone couldn't pray on an aircraft, even if squashed into an economy class seat. It's certainly something I've managed several times and I don't make the same claims of anointing that Mr Copeland seems to make.
