2 Corinthians 12:1-4

King James Version

12 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

Yes, it can still happen, and is what happens with those who have had near death experiences (NDE).

It is sad that most Churches do not prepare brethren on this subject because God's Word certainly does cover it.

Per Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 5, he showed that right now, present tense, we all have another body inside our flesh body that is not made with hands (i.e., not of matter), from God, eternal in the heavens (meaning of the Heavenly dimension). And that is how Paul meant to be absent from the body (flesh) is to be present with The LORD.

But this world wants us to think and believe that our spirit and soul are made up of earthly material matter like flesh, when it is not. Ecclesiastes 12:5-7 revealed that if the "silver cord" is loosed, then our flesh body goes back to the earthly elements where it came from, but our spirit goes back to God Who gave it. Thus Solomon revealed there is an invisible "silver cord" that keeps our spirit/soul attached to our flesh body while alive on earth.

What likely happens with that "silver cord" to a person who has an NDE? As long as that "silver cord" is not severed, then one's spirit/soul can return back into the flesh body, like the miracle God did with the dead child which Elijah asked God to revive (1 Kings 17).

The devil is who pushes the false theme that this world of flesh is our true home. It is not.

Our true HOME is with The LORD, in that other realm of Spirit, but still dwelling upon this earth with Him in His Garden of Eden that was once upon this earth per Genesis 2. When Lord Jesus said that in the resurrection they neither marry nor take in marriage, but are AS the angels of God in Heaven, He was pointing to our future state of the world to come with an angelic type body, the "spiritual body" which Apostle Paul taught we shall be changed to. This present world in the flesh is temporary, and can never be the real manifesting of the "sons of God" per Paul in Romans 8.

@jesus lover, I'm convinced from personal experience that God gave Paul a vision of heaven. He gave me one at the turn of the century for the benefit of the church of which I was a pastor. Visions are different from dreams in that the former are very vivid and often symbolic. Dreams I forget, but that vision persists even 25 years later!
