John 14:12 (NIV): "Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father."

Most Christians today either ignore this or simply don't believe it, usually explaining it away with something like 'the age of miracles is passed' (meaning that was then, this is now).

Could it be Dispensationalism related? What is Dispensationalism and is it Biblical?

People using such arguments never seem to want to answer the question: What else that Jesus said and taught should be ignored?

I find no biblical basis for discounting the teachings and statements Jesus made as being out of date and no longer valid. Maybe Matthew 24:35: "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away." (NIV) along with several other references?

I referrered to dispensatioalism only for the time of miracles being over.
