Read what you posted..... IMO, if you do, you'll realize your very, very fundamental error. And the error of mixing Law and Gospel, the error of your law-based rejection of the Gospel.

Consider too Paul's statement that he IS the CHIEF of sinners..... Scripture proclaiming that ALL fall short, that NO ONE is righteous, no not even one. IMO, that includes you. Certainly it includes me. Which is why I'm celebrating the coming of the SAVIOR. Celebrating the coming of MERCY.

i answered the Question asked very precisely and clearly explained the reason for the answer .basing it directly on the scripture.
Paul considered himself the chief of sinners before he was saved because he went around persecuting the saints before he was saved ,thus displaying that God is so gracious to save even him.. he did not go on to to continue persecuting the church -he repented ..ceased stopped desisted ,
stop using singular sentences out of context -read the whole letter and see the point he was leading to don't stop at the single sentence and build a warped theology on it .

AS in the above case with john.. if Paul then went on to live a sin-filled life and practice sin then everything he says about the accomplishments of the lord Jesus become a lie .. you REALLY need to decide what it is exactly you believe .

The Law has a purpose it is a curb, guide and mirror, yet it always accuses us. It cannot save us.

The Gospel saves us and we do not contribute to it.

The members here who have posted are trying to get you to see that you sometimes misapply Law and Gospel. The truth remains.. unrepentant sin is unforgiven sin. and returning to sin after being set free is not a compulsion out of our control but a choice we make and the choice we make "Daily " to die to the flesh and live In Christ .. which one we consistently choose is evidence of whom we are truly following . its as simple as that .

dissecting it to water down its clear unambiguous meaning will not change what the Holy Spirit has stated through John .

The truth remains.. unrepentant sin is unforgiven sin. and returning to sin after being set free is not a compulsion out of our control but a choice we make and the choice we make "Daily " to die to the flesh and live In Christ .. which one we consistently choose is evidence of whom we are truly following . its as simple as that .

Seriously, have you gone through and read what others have said in regards to repentance because it seems you have not at all and that's a thread killer to have someone just go on and on and not even know what someone else has written.

In regards to giving an account of what we've done, ya know what I'm going to do...point to Jesus. You just go ahead and try to point to yourself and see how far THAT gets you hahahahaha.

i have read the "Opinions" of others .but they have not based anything on sound scripture-only on out of context sentences snatched out by religious tradition to appease the conscience of continued sin . you desire me to adhere to your opinion over scripture .. but shall i follow you and your mocking laughter in the face of your refusal to answer whether or not the scripture i have presented is true .. OR shall i follow God and be NOT conformed to this world ?..I know it is wise to choose God .

basicly is the scripture true or not .. repent of following your own ways and turn to god ,turn from sin and accept the power (the Holy Spirit ) God gives us to be overcomers ..no longer slaves to sin.
for whom we serve.. thats who is our master . we CAN NOT SERVE TWO MASTERS -the LOrd JEsus said so .

Are you in a state of panic daily thinking you aren't saved if you mess up and sin? Or do you look to Jesus who forgave your sins at the cross?

firstly im not in state of panic lol . im at peace with God and his Holy Spirit dwells within .. ,,secondly the Lord jesus told us to abide in him ,by his spirit he also told us to "walk in the Spirit " .. so at what point will the holy Spirit ,who "leads us into all truth" lead me to sin ?.. how can i suddenly mess up and sin .? none of us can -we have to knowingly ignore the holy Spirit ,turn our back on him .shut the ears of our hearts to him and then go and do what our flesh is desiring us to do - that can't happen accidently .

please do tell if you would believe that of your husband .." ouh sorry dear , i came around the corner of the office and bumped into this lady and we accidentally had sex .. ! nope you won't buy it but people expect god to buy it .. he DOESN'T . he ,like you, knows all the more that after we have been set free we have to shut out our God given conscience -we have to resist the holy Spirit in order to go and DO such an act -we have to deceive ourselves into thinking it is ok.. sin is NEVER OK and god NEVER leads us to it .

NO after they repent they are forgiven and the evidence that they have repented is they STOP .but as john says ..if they still continue even after .. that is simply evidence that they don't know God they have not come to repentance .they think repentance is just saying sorry please forgive me and then going and doing it again. that is not repentance that is deception .

if any one reading this has a sin they are enslaved to and feel compelled to do and feel they cant stop ..then get out and away from unbelieving christians and go to people of believing FAITH and they will drive that controlling demon out of you pronto in JEsus name just like the lord JEsus commanded us to do .

it is not just confessing sin .
it is turning around and changing your mind and following the lord jesus
we cannot walk in two directions at the same time and we cannot serve two masters at the same time .
