I received an invitation to join the Nextdoor app and it stated a street that I don't live on. It's nearby, but I don't live in that portion or the estates listed.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has joined Nextdoor and to tell me the pros and cons?

It can be useful to share events going on in the area, any safety concerns, and even also meeting new people in the neighborhood. There are times where people will use it to gripe and it can be a bit much and can even get heated.

I was reading reviews yesterday and a lot of people say it's just a bunch of Karens on there? I hate using that term, but that is what they said.

I have it but barely look at it. It is another one of those sites where I don't totally get it.

I got off of both Nextdoor and the neighborhood private Facebook group. It was pretty much all complaints and "karen" type messages, rarely was it ever anything useful.

This is the first I have heard about the nextdoor app. I am a part of a facebook group for my neighborhood which seems to be mainly used to post about animals that are lost or found in the area or if a neighbor is selling something.

Not something I use. I am in a Faceache group for alerts in my county, although most of what goes on in there is more the "slow-mo train wreck" kind of stuff.

It's remarkable how many people will post something like "i lost my wallet near (store) if anyone sees it please let me know", when there are multiple (store)s in the area but they didn't bother to say which one, and then turn off commenting so nobody can let them know. Other fun themes that crop up frequently are things like "my dog got out this afternoon if you see him let me no" without a description of the dog or the any location information.
