When is the last time you went to a family reunion? I'm not talking about a birthday party or holiday gatherings.

It's been over 10 years for us.

Family reunions were every year. And I believe they should be. At times they are held at the local cemetery where most family are buried.

And not just 'family reunions' but small town reunions. Because they all knew each other.

We failed to meet this year due to many that had health issues and the Texas heat was too much.

I'm sure, like the old, family reunions are dying off. Why? Because the American nation doesn't want you to recognize your 'family' as distinct. They want you to be a mixture. Family, clan, are evil words to America. Diversity is the word for this age.

I agree!!

We used to go to multiple family reunions every summer. Then the great-grandparents died off...then the grandparents and then no one was going to them anymore.

11 months ago. We combined our annual one with my MIL's 100th birthday. That in itself was a family reunion as all of his cousins and spouses attended.

Sadly, it won't happen this year as my son was laid off at a time they were looking at houses to buy so they could make long distance move (he is a remote worker) so he won't be able to make it. Hopefully next year we can return to doing it.
